The pivot lock shoes on our Pella windows are showing their age and starting to break. Salesman wants us to buy new windows (current ones are only 10 years old). Pella want to charge $200 labour to replace 2-$3.00 lock shoes. Generic window jam spreaders start at $120. This little beauty cost less than $15.00 and worked like a charm. Make sure you lubricate the threads and the slide bar first and use electrical tape to wrap the paddles to prevent scratching of the vinyl. A great "work around"! ... show more

    • Put to use differently
I bought these to use as a window jamb spreader, since an actual window jam spreader tool costs $100+. I gotta say these did the job quite well, they slipped out a few times but with careful positioning they will do the job and for the price you can't go wrong.

    • Works great for spreading vinyl windows to change springs
I bought two of these to spread open the window track on my vinyl windows to remove the spring and the sliding part of my double hung windows. A proper removal tool costs 129 but two of these for.less than $30 dollars plus I can use them for other things is a major win.

In general, this worked pretty well for opening the pistons on the front calipers of my car that would not allow use of my other Amazon purchased piston rewind compression tool Orion Motor Tech. The prongs that open the caliper piston are not made of high strength steel and do bend, but can be strengthened afterward with a hammer on a vise. ... show more

    • Tool does NOT work
Tried using tool today at my shop but it only ‘gives’ and actually bends under force and hasn’t enough rigidity or strength to compress a single caliper piston, probably because of the angle it comes in at. Video of the product shows it being successfully being used because the demonstration is being performed on a caliper that does not have an actual brake line (under pressure) connected to it. This worked perfectly for a brake job on a Harley touring bike. A friend asked for help replacing his brakes and I bought this tool to make things easier. It will work when I do the brakes on my jeep.

    • Two Piston Calipers Made Easy
I used this on the rear brakes on a BMW M235i. It works well for the two piston rear and okay for the front four piston brakes if you position it in the center of the caliper. I used the Lisle 29100 Quick Quad Pad Spreader for the fronts, but doesn't fit well without removing the calipers. Remember to remove the brake fluid reservoir cap before pressing the pistons back in place. Build quality of the tool is not great, but does the job at the $15 price point. ... show more

changes a set of pads on a Quad piston caliper, 3 times on a dual piston caliper. It works, but started to notice the plate are start to bend. Just know what you're paying for.
