Description

ATP Transmission filters are designed to keep the transmission fluid clean and flowing consistently, as intended by the original manufacturer. This is achieved by matching the OE specification of particle filtration and fluid flow. Every transmission will eventually accumulate debris from normal wear and tear. It is critical that the transmission fluid is kept clean so that the valve body and other vital components do not become clogged making them in- operable. By regularly replacing your transmission filter, you will be extending your transmission’s life and avoiding the possibility of costly repairs. The exclusive 3rd Hand Pan Gasket is an innovative gasket solution invented by ATP. It features slightly undersized bolt holes that hold pan bolts in place during installation, which can be identified by small tabs on the outer perimeter. The “3rd Hand” retaining feature makes a cumbersome installation process much easier. The material composition of the gasket is also unique. The fibrous gasket swells slightly with the first heat cycle, preventing any leaks long term and filling in imperfections on the pan and transmission surfaces. The feature also ensures transmission pan bolts do not loosen over time due to the expanded gasket. About ATP Automotive: ATP was founded on July 1, 1955. The company was an innovator of transmission rebuild kits and, over the years, has expanded its product offering to include automatic transmission filter kits, repair kits, cables, flywheels and ring gears, cabin air filters and chemicals. In 2001, the Graywerks by ATP line was introduced. This line consists of exhaust manifolds, harmonic balancers, timing covers and engine and transmission pans. ATP Automotive strives to provide the highest quality parts to their valued customers. The company was fully rebranded as ATP Automotive in 2014.

  • No problems installing or issues with leaks
Nothing fancy about removing the pan (just make sure to apply even torque to remove screws and use a scraper/ pry bar to gently remove). The filter just pulls out/ push in and the sensor just snaps in place. Clean off the old gasket with a wire brush. I coated the gasket with gray RTV for sealing and shifting. Snuggled screws in an alternating pattern and then torqued. I have had no issues with leaks after 1000 miles. ... show more

  • Fits properly on a Mazda 2002 Protege 5
The filter and gasket work perfectly, ( if your gasket is deformed ) use a clothes iron and iron it out using distilled water then put a heavy flat object on the top and after 15 min it will be perfectly flat.

  • Was no good and was no the right one
No fitting and I has to open all to make sure was the right one . And stll no good even the gasget was no good too . Was broke and was no the right one . . I has to use much silicon and use the same filter and spend more money buying more fluid of the car . I was gonna change . I did but no make diferet bc I use the same filter so I have to buy more fluid when I get the right filter . ... show more

  • correct for my application
I didn't actually install this myself, bought it along with some other parts a mechanic friend of mine was installing for me during a service. I got this ahead of time to both save money and ensure he had the right parts (I didn't think the local parts store would carry the kit for my oddball euro Ford). He said the quality seemed reasonable and everything fit without issue. ... show more

  • Worked like a champ with no leaks
Installed this on my 2007 Ford Focus. Fit was perfect and filter was easy to install. I torqued all of the screws to 21ftpds and have had no leaks.

  • 2005 Mazda 6i Fitment
Great, worked as advertised and make sure you torque all nuts/bolts with a torque wrench to ensure even tightness and prevent leaks. I replaced all existing oil with Mazda atf m-v (Careful not to be confused with Mercon V, they are not the same)

  • 2009 Mazda 3s
Fit a 2009 Mazda 3s 5-door automatic transmission. Change and fit was perfect. Be sure to not overtighten the bolts holding the oil pan and gasket in place -the gasket WILL tear and split around the bolts risking a leak. The "material" gasket is supposedly made from some polymer that's supposed to solidify over time and with sustained heat. Recommended if you're changing the A/T fluid and (hopefully) filter too. ... show more

  • Did the job.
Seemed to be a just ok quality filter and gasket at a decent price. Gasket does seem like it could tear easily if you are not real careful. The part about the gasket holes being smaller to hold the bolts in place during installation was completely false so 2 stars off for that.
