  • Terrible Bindings, Thin Decking
I purchased these snowshoes to fit my Baffin Control Maxx pack boots, and while they technically fit the boot, the binding straps are so poorly designed that they are nearly impossible to get secure enough to stay on the boot. The decking is little more than fiber reinforced cloth, and will not hold up to my hikes in the woods where sticks will quickly punch holes in it. Atlas claims that the bindings are spring loaded (which sounded good as it would make it much easier to step over fallen trees and still allow for pivot when walking), well, that is a huge overstatement.....the bindings are attached by plastic strapping with no real structure at all.....any spring action is caused by the flex of the plastic straps. Finally, while I did not go for a walk in wet snow, the design of the bottom structure will absolutely cause wet snow to stick and build up. All-in-all, this is just a bad design with one possible exception, that being packability. The lousy bindings allow the snowshoes to lay flat against one another making it easy to lash to a pack. So if you will be using these to get up a remote mountain in powder snow to ski down they might work for you, but be prepared to be frustrated with the bindings. I'm returning mine. ... show more

  • Great pair of snowshoes!
Bought 2 pair for us and have used them extensively since Christmas. The are easy to put on and take off. They have worked well on hard packed surfaces as well as 18" of soft snow. I highly recommend them.

  • Great snowshoes
Great snowshoes. Easy to put on secure and never came loose. Crampons worked like a charm for climbing and edges dig in.

  • They work great on hilly terrain.
They work better than expected! Just what we were looking for, using them on hilly terrain.
