  • Only Buy if You Can DIY
I DIY'd two of these and attached them to my chicken coop. I have a fully enclosed 40x30 run attached to an 8x10 coop. These nesting houses add an extra few square feet and provide a private nesting place. The pros: Easy to put together, wood smells nice, and it's very easy access. The ladies seem to prefer this style of nesting box than others. I took the run attachment that comes with it and put it to another small coop box with a single nest to make an isolation ward (aka chicken hospital). The cons: The roof & lids are not weatherproof and after two years the wood is already warping and flaking underneath the "shingle" material coating. One of my nests gets wet during a hard rain so the girls avoid it. I'm going to have to figure out a way to DIY the nest lids specifically to make them more weatherproof without hindering mobility of the lids. Also, there is no lip to the nests themselves, making it easy for hens to scratch out all of the nesting material. So be prepared to cut and secure two thick plywood strips to do that (I recommend about 2" in height). The nest dividers are flimsy and easily moved, so you can cut plywood and secure to make better dividers if you want, or just remove the divider that comes with it, to make it a communal nest depending on your hens' disposition. Mine refuse to sit with another, so I have to have a divider. ... show more

  • Ok!
The chicken coop arrived 3 days after the cage arrived. It is sufficiant for our uses.

  • Not nearly as big as described
It was easy to assemble and has the number of nesting boxes and perches we needed, but it is not nearly as big as described. We have 5 growing chicks that will be outside soon, and we are working on adding on to it. It will be taller, have an automatic door opener, have a longer run, and have a little more interior space. Our hens will be full size. We should have gotten a much larger coop but didn't want to spend $800. Since this is our first flock, we really didn't know better but went off the 2 nesting boxes and 2 perches bc that in and of itself was hard to find. I don't know why this is marketed for anything but chickens bc rabbits don't roost. ... show more

  • Good for a few chickens
So this coop expected my needs, the problems I had was that one of the wood pieces for the roof to connect to the whole coop was broken, I had to nailed it down, another thing it had big gaps which I didn’t like as I use coffee grounds for their bedding and all comes out as they move. The door for them to come out came off within 3 days the screws didn’t hold it down. The instructions are pretty easy to follow except where the top of the outside netting was a bit confusing, also to screw it to the coop was a bit hard as I had to crawl half way in to connect them. My chickens love it it’s nice some flaws here and there but nothing big, and does the job. ... show more

  • Cute coop
Easy to assemble. I wouldn’t recommend putting more than a few chickens in it. It is very cute though even if it isn’t all that big. We plan to add on to the run area. Description states the run can be used with or without the coop, but the run doesn’t have wire on one end so you’d have to add wire if you wanted to use it separately. ... show more

  • Not a good chicken coop
This coop should not be advertised for anything more than 5-6 chickens. Made very cheap. We purchased a coop for the exact same price from Tractor Supply and it is a 10/10 compared to this one. The laying boxes are made oddly small. Not waterproof, leaks inside the coop. There is no convenient way to close the coop up when it’s cold or rainy bc the door is a ramp and since the coop is not elevated just ends up a part of the ground. ... show more

  • Very lightweight
Easy to put together, but the material is very thin and light weight. Since I'm putting it inside a larger run that isn't as much of a concern for me, but I definitely wouldn't use this alone - a predator would easily be able to lift this up and get inside the small attached run.
