    • Actually got fully reimbursed!
I appreciate that they did finally reimburse me for my laptop but it took the third time sending it in and it not being repaired before they did it. I understand that, but now my Facebook was hacked within days of sending it in and I am very nervous someone is getting into that laptop and trying to steal my information. I just received another notification that someone attempted to reset my FB passwords. I would like proof it was destroyed or that they wiped my hard drive. The passwords are protected but any decent computer tech will get them if they want. I DO NOT like that. I don't necessarily have a great solution but this is a real problem you may encounter.     • unnecessary factory reset of my Chromebook
I don't usually buy the protection plans but this time I did and I was relieved I had when the screen went blank and it wouldn't turn on or hold a charge. The website was frustrating (seemed glitchy) but customer support had my claim in and approved in less than 5 min. They sent a shipping box and paid all costs. As requested, I sent my Google username and password as that is the only way to get in and test functionality. It was impossible to backup my data as it wouldn't turn on (even with the charger plugged in). My Chromebook was shipped Thur and returned Tue with paperwork saying they replaced the battery and a repair quality checklist including all was good with the wireless connectivity, speaker, camera, all of which you can't test without having signed in. Yet it arrived reset to factory settings - completely wiped clean so I couldn't even sign in. I had to completely set it up again from scratch and lost a lot of important files WHICH WAS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY FOR A BATTERY EXCHANGE AND AFTER THEY HAD SIGNED IN!!!!! Lesson learned about backing things up, apparently every hour, but that is a separate topic. ... show more
