I purchased a 3-year protection plan for a printer I ordered through Amazon. The printer gave me some trouble during the pandemic. I sent it to Asurion and they repaired it in a timely manner. Recently (2023), the printer rejected brand new Cyan cartridges. I sent it in for repair. After Asurion determined it was not fixable, they promptly refunded me for the cost of the printer in the form of an Amazon gift card. The ink that came with the printer was either bad or dried up. Had to replace with new.

Opened case for product dead after power surge. Got the giftcard in 2 days after I dropped the defective item to UPS. Worth the money.

It was handled quickly, however it would have been nice to know up front it was going to be reimbursed with an Amazon gift card because I ordered another router and paid cash for it. I I didn’t order from Amazon frequently then I would’ve been out the $200 until I need something

    • Not as good as you think, but better than nothing!
Asurion protection plan is OK. This is definitely not a top-of-the-line protection. If something is wrong with your device, they will try to repair it three times before finally telling you that you need either a refund or to replace the device which is what I was told. I just received an email telling me that my device was unrepairable and that they were sending me an Amazon gift card which I did not want, I wanted the money back and I had them note that in my account. So needless to say they make you keep the Amazon gift card and do not care for your needs after spending so much on the protection plan. ... show more
