    • THIS IS NOT A REAL INSURANCE COMPANY. I work for one.
Legitimate insurance companies don't give AMAZON GIFT CARDS/CERTIFICATES to "pay" claims. (If it were a generic VISA gift card, that would at least be palatable.) They act as an arm of AMAZON, ensuring Amazon keeps your money regardless of any action or inaction. If I take a car to a dealership and they say they can't fix my windshield wiper, THEY GIVE IT BACK TO ME. THEY DON'T KEEP MY CAR and GIVE ME AN AMAZON GIFT CARD INSTEAD OF THE PRODUCT THAT I PAID FOR AND "OWN!!!!!" THEY WOULDN'T EVEN RETURN MY HARDDRIVE (WHICH HAD NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. The weld on the left laptop hinges snapped. Not a thing was wrong with the computer, expect that and the corner plastic that cracks over it. The screen, keyboard, hard drive, backlit feature, fingerprint reader, facial recognition, computational functionality, etc. were not effected by the hinge, just like a headrest being stuck does not effect the car's ability to drive, provide AC/heat, recline seats, open windows, brake, play CDs, etc.) I am stuck with a gift certificate that will take me years to use, without earning a penny of interest. Just because you write something down and state it as "policy" does not make it morally, ethically, or social consciously right. ... show more

It was very easy to get covered repairs. Claim submitted online. Instructions extremely easy to understand. Shipping box for laptop was provided. Fast turn-around. We specifically purchased this product protection from Asurion because the laptop was to be used by our daughter in college. A few months after using the laptop, the touchscreen stopped working. The rest of the laptop was still operational, so our daughter made do without the touchscreen. When she came home for the Christmas break, we notified Asurion, via their website, of our claim. They sent us a shipping box with instructions on how and what to send. We had the fully repaired laptop just three weeks after we sent it. We are very happy with our experience. ... show more

    • Timely, efficient service
I'm really glad I got the protection plan! I was skyping with someone when my laptop fell, puncturing the side panel of the laptop. It worked fine, but I was worried it would start failing down the line, so I started a claim. The claim was started, processed, and resolved within a week or two. My only problem with this is that, when I purchased this plan, I wasn't aware that they would not just replace broken items. Instead they issued me an Amazon card for the price of purchase, not including the protection plan. When I went to purchase the same laptop, the price had increased. I would have rather just received a replacement, and not had to pay more money to get my laptop back. ... show more

    • Their clock starts ticking even a week before your product arrives!
The company is asking me to review them today, so I'm sharing my one impression so far. I'm a little annoyed they are starting the 2 year clock for coverage even before my product shipped, much less arrived. So they get a free week of coverage without any possibility of me having a technical issue! What a wonderful deal they gave themselves! And here's the real kicker...I am giving this as an Xmas present, so I already knew I would not be using it until 12/25, but they are helping themselves to yet another week. There you have it...the review you get when asking me for one a few days before the product is delivered. It's asking for a photo....I don't have one yet :-( ... show more
