    • FASTED & EASIEST Claim I Have Ever Filed
This has been the absolute easiest and fasted insurance claim I have ever filed. 5 stars for ease. 5 stars for speed. 5 stars for value. I bought a refurbished desktop tower mid-2020 and included the 2 year Asurion protection plan. It was fine up until an update in February of this year (2022), which is 18 months after I purchased the tower. It was stuck on the update. I left it overnight and it was still at 0% when I checked it in the morning. Needless to say, from that point on, the computer wouldn't even boot up. I hesitated for nearly a month because I didn't want to "deal with" sending the thing back and long explanations and waiting for them to take care of things. Finally, on March 2nd, I just decided to do it. It was a simple matter of going to their website to file a claim, check your email (or your Amazon orders history) to get the order number that contained the protection plan, answer a few questions about what happened and when. Then you get very concise and simple instructions to return the item. Which was for me, wrap it in bubble wrap, put it in a box and seal, print the shipping label, attach to the box, drop off at a UPS location. The next morning on March 3rd I dropped the package off at a UPS location. That same day I received and email from Asurion that my claim was complete and they'd be sending my Amazon gift cards to allow me to replace the computer tower. That gift card number arrived in my email shortly thereafter. So in less than 48 hours I opened the claim, shipped the item, and Asurion fulfilled it. On the 5th I ordered my replacement (spend some time researching) and it was delivered on the 7th. I highly recommend whenever you order any electronics, or any other item that Asurion will cover, that might be financially difficult to replace, GET THE ASURION plan. Just in case.     • many intentional convoluted unnecessary steps
To get a claim number there are many convoluted unnecessary steps, (( I believe intentionally)). You've got "claim numbers" that point to "claim codes". If the site asks for one, you are simply told "bad number". I'm thinking most people ( give up ), which is profit for Asurion. They've got all the information to get you the money, all the information could have been included in the one email, but it's a whole bunch of back and forth click here call here enter the number here can't do it through the website, now do it through Amazon, on and on ... show more

I had purchased the Asurion protection plan on a refurbished desktop. The power died due to several surges. I could not locate my paperwork, but was able to get the contact information through Amazon. I called and spoke to a customer service agent. She started my claim, explained what I needed to do and submitted the claim. I was given an Amazon gift card within a day. I ordered a replacement and another 2 year service plan for the new unit.
