  • Lightweight
We have a lot of deer (and lots of babies!) I had a deer resistant plant with beautiful leaves and starting to flower and came out one morning and they were eaten. I put this lightweight netting loosely over the plant and it is coming back great. The netting lets the plant grow and has protected it!

  • GREAT PRODUCT USING IT AS A BARRIER ON MY PORCH (TRIMMED TO SIZE) TO KEEP GRANDCHILD AND PETS SAFE!
The deer fence was exactly what I was looking for, I'm using it as a barrier netting to keep my Grandson and my Pugs from squeezing through the railings of my 2 story high back porch. I just simply trimmed the mesh to the size I needed and attached to the existing wrought iron railings with zip ties, it worked perfectly. I had a different plastic mesh barrier on my railings previously (it was a rigid, stiff plastic, in less than a year it cracked, became even brittle and crumbled). This mesh is more pliable and looks less apt to become brittle. The plastic mesh I had previously purchased was only 15 ft long by 36 in high, it was made and marketed as a barrier to keep children and pets from squeezing between the railings. It was also almost double the price of the Deer and Animal Fencing and I had to piece it together to make it fit. The best thing about the Deer and Animal Fencing is I have enough to to fit my porch for at least 3 times, so if and when it become weathered, crumbles, or develops a tear I have enough on hand to patch or replace it. I may also use some to add to my decorative garden fencing to keep the dogs out of there too. Even though I am using this for applications other than what it was intended for, this product was exactly what I needed. It was a great purchase, I am very pleased! ... show more

  • Way too thin, I assumed it would be alot thicker just from looking at the seller's pictures
Well just being honest here, not sure if I read or understood the description correctly or if the images just looked alot thicker and sturdier than what it actually is. I definitely havent tried to see what a deer or bird will do when they come across this net but in my opinion a deer will more than likely rip it open with anything from its teeth to hooves. Personally I think that any animal bigger than a squirrel will rip it super easy and then the squirrel can cut the nets 100%. And also I think it wouldnt be humane or wise to use it as a deterrent for birds because without any doubt the bird will get so tangled in the netting. MAYBE you'll still have some fruit left on your tree but the nets either gonna be ripped or just full of dead tangled up birds.. . .. I guess it's your call in the end. In my opinion it's not thick or strong enough for its intended purpose.. AND we all know what happens when anyone "assumes" right . . . . . Basically making an a$$ out of U and Me . . . . .oh how ignorance is such bliss ... show more

  • Very Lightweight
Photo on package displays product installed as a barrier for deer. If that was my goal, the product would have been returned. The mesh is most like those used to cover shrubs. My concern if installed as pictured would be the risk of birds getting tangled. I was able to use multiple layers for my specific application as a derterrant to keep a small dog from jumping over a low wall. ... show more

  • I buy this because it's a lot cheaper than the ...
I buy this because it's a lot cheaper than the supposedly "stronger" deer netting and it does the job, at least for a year or two. The deer won't barge through it if you tie little strips of plastic bag to the netting at about deer head height, as then they'll see that there's something there. I've found it does fail in places after a while, but I simply add another layer. So far, my vegetables have been protected. Don't expect it to hold up over time, but as I said, it's also possible to double up and then it's probably just as strong as the netting that costs three or four times the price. ... show more

  • This is a great deer netting
This is a great deer netting. Good quality, great price. It seems sturdy and tough to break. We used it around our garden folded in half attached to stakes with zip ties. However as other reviewers have stated do not open this outdoors and try to use it as packaged. One gust of wind and its a tangled mess. We did and it was a huge disaster as it is not packaged in a way to unfold it in any useable manner. We had to untangle the whole thing and wind it carefully around a piece of cardboard and then it was much easier to put up. ... show more

  • Not a fence. At best, a tree/flower cover (works in the summer).
First, this should not be labeled "deer & animal fence.." I put it up as a fence and deer walked though it, ripped it at sections. We have arrogant deer in NY; they're not afraid to rampage even when humans are present. This netting "fence" has prevented the most timid of them from coming into my yard but not all. It's summer and they have lots to eat but I don't know what will happen in the winter. I'm also using this as a tree/shrub cover to prevent deer from eating them. It has worked so far, but I'll know in a few months when the critters get hungry. It's not easy to work with as it tangles up/catches on everything. But, it's thin and you can hardly see it. You can cut it in a few feet length pieces easily for wrap around. I've read so much about deer fences. The best are the ones that the deer can't see what's on the other side, which means they won't jump the fence, so you don't need it more that 5 feet. I also used 40lb fish line at places and has worked as they don't see the lines (placed at 12'' parallel) and they get spooked. I'm also using Bobbex deer repellent. Next is a shotgun... (I'm kidding, for now...) ... show more
