It has good grips for the outdoors. Indoors, it's fine in almost all cases except on tile when mopped, it was super slippery as a warning. Very comfortable and is holding up nicely after wearing them for a few weeks with a wash or two in washer as well.

I purchased a higher priced ASICS running shoe ...a 12 1/2 M. it was really tight on my feet. I have foot issues and I need a shoe that gives me support while comfort as well. The ASICS Men's Gel-Excite Trail 2 Shoes really meet my needs and give me comfort. So I bought a size 13 and I am happy as a toad. The shoes are light with some cushion to assist in stepping. The fit is perfect for my feet. The appearance is great. I will probably by another pair in the near future. They are the second pair of ASICS that I have owned. Great shoes for walking or running!

I needed a replacement for my ASICS Gel-Excite 8 shoes. I do a mix of treadmill, path and trail walks/runs. These shoes have plenty of cushion...much more than the Excite 8's. I was fortunate to get the battleship gray version and get a lot of compliments on the lime green camo sole. So far in my day to day, these shoes have held up well. I've had to scurry a few times in the rain and my feet have stayed dry and had good lateral stability. I haven't had a chance to trail run them yet, but plan to update my review. The sides ride just right, so I haven't had any issues with rubbing and the loop on the back makes it easy to pull the shoes on. If you are someone on your feet all day...medical, education, or who has a moment to reset, get out and pound the ground to get some fresh air, I will say for the price, they are well worth it. ... show more

Love the overall comfort of this shoe. I have severe low back problems and the comfort while walking is absolutely amazing. Love the color and big loop on heel (unlike loops that are size of child's finger) haha But I feel this is a great shoe for heel support and walking and the fact I feel more stable with the extra grips (trail shoe) I wanted this shoe in one of the men's color of this exact shoe and it fits exactly the same. 1.5 size down of course.
