I decided to try this hair masque after trying oil masques that have to sit for an hour (or more!) and wet application masques (deep conditioning masques used as last step in shower) but after not seeing the results I wanted, I decided to try this. Despite my treatments, my hair still looked dry and damaged. I love the As I Am brand and use several of their products to style and cowash my curly hair. Considering the size of all the other products I use, I was disappointed in the size of this jar. I took a picture of the jar after one application. I would imagine it to last maybe 3 or 4 applications if I was lucky ( my hair is semi-long and I was pretty heavy handed). My first application was done per the directions: 20 mins on dry hair with a hair cap. I rinsed out and cowashed my hair as usual. To be honest, I wasn’t that impressed. Was it moisturizing? I guess, but my hair was still dry so I decided to ignore the directions for my 2nd application and leave it on for an hour. This time the moisturizing factor was outstanding without being too heavy. My hair was much less dry and was more manageable for a longer period. For anyone with damaged hair, and time to let this soak for an hour, I would give it 4/5 stars. ... show more

i got this product on a whim from target after looking for a hair mask that would help put life back into my hair after bleaching it. i noticed my hair was losing its curls after a few times bleaching, so i knew conditioning it like this would be the way to go. this product works amazing and leaves my hair feeling so soft and smelling amazing. i personally use it as a co-wash, not sure how it would work with someone who also uses shampoos. ... show more

I remember discovering this right before the pandemic and used this and as I am’s olive oil cowash FAITHFULLY and my hair was so full and strong. But after working in the beauty industry for a well know hair care brand for almost 2 years now, I’ve come across the best kept secret… when new products come out - the best of the best formula is made for products (obvy to gain traction and sales) but after awhile to cut on cost of goods and materials, brands tend to quietly change the formula to reduce their overhead expenses for cost to make the products… and sure nuff, I purchased this masque in 2021 and it was NOT the same. My hair, afte leaving it in for a few hours like I used to before, it left my hair really dry. No moisture. So yeah - pretty sure they switched something up when the $$$$ became consistent for this jbco line. ... show more
