I absolutely loved this lanyard. It's so pretty and I received so many compliments, especially when I was near a window and the sunshine bounced off of it! Now, I'll start by saying that I did not treat this gently. It often fell to the bottom of my purse on my days off, which meant pulling it out past my collection of various items when I headed into work, so when the gems started falling off, I wasn't surprised. It lasted close to five months before I decided that too many gems were missing (like maybe ten total, but about half of them were missing from the part that customers were most likely to see) and I probably needed to switch it out again, but for the joy that it brought me and everyone who saw it, I'd say that I got my money's worth out of it! I'm glad I purchased this. I also want to note that, when I first bought it, I was taking a gamble because I can be pretty sensitive to textures, but I never felt a sharp edge on any of the gems and it was almost a comforting massaging texture on the back of my neck. That's kind of a big deal for me! So if you're hesitating due to sensory issues, too, I'd encourage you to get it and try it out! At this price point (<$10), what have you got to lose? Pros: -sparkly -subtle rainbow accessory for Pride season -makes customers smile because everybody likes sparkly things -improves your mood with subtle Pavlov cue (Sparkly things=good things, so this lanyard=yay, going to work!) -latch smoothly and easily opens for keys and things but firmly stays closed when you don't need it to be open (which would be basically always for a lanyard) Cons: -eventually will lose gems, especially if you don't treat it gently/hang it up on days when you're not wearing it to work and/or let it get lost in the depths of your purse -if you have extremely delicate skin on the back of your neck, this might not be for you Tldr: get it! I should have read the reviews BEFORE I bought this. I agree with many others that it SMELLS AWFUL, toxic smelling chemical odor. It gave me a headache. Also, it definitely snags the hair on your neck...VERY uncomfortable. Needless to say, I returned it. Easy to return. It looked nice. Nice and shiny but the smell and hair pulling was a definite 'no' for me. ... show more

This lanyard is very colorful, sparkly, and pretty. However, the design of the crystals on this lanyard makes it so that any hair on your neck is caught up in the crystals and pulled out. It hurts! Any time I move my neck I feel a pull of hair at the nape of my neck. Also, this lanyard SMELLS BAD! It has a chemical smell that is overpowering. I tried putting it in the open air, sunshine, and even sprayed fragrance near it to mask the smell. I purchased another lanyard, and it STINKS, too. I have no idea what chemicals from China I am breathing in when wearing this lanyard, but it is disturbing. I will keep it and wear it with hopes that the hair pulling will stop with time and the smell will dissipate. Be forewarned, it SMELLS BAD and pulls your hair. Think twice before buying, since it will have a break-in period for sure! ... show more

The best part of this lanyard is that it really is so pretty! Sparkly and I get lots of comments on it. I had to wait a few days to wear it because the odd chemical smell was pretty strong. Even now, if I put it right up to my nose, I can smell it a bit. Also, I had a little trouble wearing this with a slightly fluffy sweater, it wanted to sort of get caught on the fibers. Okay, so I wasn't expecting much given the price, but I wanted something my daughter could attach to her airpod case to keep track of it and not lose it like she typically does with small things. This lanyard is BEAUTIFUL! It is VERY very sturdy, as a matter of fact, the lanyard is actually made out of that really solid tiny woven metal, so I can definitely see this lasting way longer than any cloth lanyard. Ordered 6 for use at our booth at a conference whose theme this year was disco. Nobody ended up wearing them. These had a strong plastic smell and were like a tangle magnet for any hair that was near it.
