    • A great nightstand (with some caveats)
First of all, let's get the obvious out of the way: if you're scared of/hate assembling IKEA furniture, this is not the project for you. This is like hard-mode IKEA assembly; it took me more than an hour and everything in my house is IKEA so I'm practiced at assembly. Some things this does better: the screws and cam locks and dowels are all packaged in an organized plastic shell instead of all mixed together in a bag. All the parts are clearly labeled with little number stickers on the rough edge. The cam locks are all metal, instead of plastic. Now for the worse things: the dowels don't quite fit in the predrilled holes. They are not super loose, but they do fall out, so I added a dab of wood glue to each of them before assembling. The drawer tracks have multiple holes, so be sure to look at the diagrams to ensure you are screwing in the right holes, or the drawers will be out of alignment and you'll have to reinstall the tracks. The instructions themselves are just a bit confusing due to how small the images are/weird the angles and proportions of the drawings are, though it's by no means a deal breaker. Finally, you need a very short or right-angle Phillips head screwdriver to tighten some of the cam locks thanks to how the unit comes together. I can't speak for the sturdiness of the nightstand, because I always add wood glue to the seams and rough edges while assembling. This artificially reinforces the build, but it seems solid enough that the glue was probably unnecessary. The drawers slide smoothly and fairly quietly, although there is still a noticeable noise when opening them. It's a good size, but do check the measurements because it is small compared to traditional nightstands. I'm happy with the purchase overall, just be aware that this is a jigsaw puzzle and it will arrive in a thousand pieces. ... show more

I’ve had my nightstand for about a few months now and it’s held quite well. Use the instructions carefully cause it’s quite easy to make a mistake, but overall it’s super easy to build. I love how there’s the slot at the bottom right for pretty much “anything” but I say it’s perfect for your tablets and laptops to charge while hiding your cords as there’s a a lot under the nightstand to put the cords under. I like to say this is perfect for those who like quirky shapes or love organizing. It’s been a perfect usage for me. I’m 5’9” and it’s short of course as it’s for the side of your bed, but for my tall bed, it’s perfect height! Has 4 “holes”/slots, 2 drawers, and a shelf on the top. It's a little bit short and the drawers are deep but short. Great for a kids room or living in tight spaces. Just wish there was a little more height to it otherwise I like it. Plenty of space for my space heater, lotion, kleenex box, desk lamp my perfume bottles, stress balls, and my cellphone along with water bottle at night. Doesn't take to much effort to assemble. They look really nice. Great concept. Very hard and a long time to put together. And I bought two. The second one should have been faster but wasn’t. Took like 4 hours for both. The arms that lift it up and down should have one in the middle to for stability. When you open it has to be right in the middle on the side closest to the bed. Also one didn’t close all the way unless pushed down hard after closing. I used single sided adhesive tape to thicken it up and provide a somewhat softer closure then black electrical tape to hide it. It worked perfectly. You can’t even see it. Pretty proud of myself on that one. Going to do the other that way too. It stops the loud slam when you do “slam” it shut bc if you’re not careful it will slam down on you. No soft close. Of note: I do not have them fully opened in the second picture. The third shows them fully extended. Where I have them in the second picture is where I like to keep them at night while I’m in bed. Then I close them in the morning. ALSO!..I added Govee M1 led light strips to the back of both. So that’s why they look so good. It only comes with their cheap led strip in the empty spot. It works but not impressive like the Govee m1 matter strips. A 6’4” worked great for you’re info. Speaking of the empty spot. I wish they put the drawer up top and the empty spot below. Functionally it would work better. Everything I’m storing is in the drawers. So reaching to the bottom seems a little silly. I’m not cluttering up the empty space. It would look ugly. Plus. There’s a drawer lol and I’m very adhd/ocd. I can’t put anything in the empty spaces except the remotes for their led strip and my Xbox controller. And the remotes are Velcroed to the side so you can’t see them lol. Of note: there remote for one controls both so they are both in sync which is a nice feature. Cleaning. This is a problem for me. The surface will not come completely clean with no streaks. Just accept that it will have streaks on it. I don’t keep my room bright enough for me to ever notice unless I turn on the regular white light. I have my entire room decked out in led Govee lights. I’m starting a business installing them. Overall…buy them. For the price I feel like I didn’t get ripped off. It was the assembly that really got me. Very frustrating. Very. BUT worth it. ... show more
