Got this for my 8m old daughter. It's lasted two years later plus a 1 year old brother. It's been dropped hundreds of times. Cracked, smacked, and then some. And somehow it's only now stopped working. First the top half lights stopped, then the clear ball opened and no longer let the star spin. After a few days of that, it finally let go.     • Magic wand is magically delightful!!
My daughter had a developmental eval done where they needed to get and maintain her attention. For little ones these settings can be tough when you consider new people, new surroundings, and difficult requests. When I saw how much interest she showed so quickly I immediately had to have one! It's amazing! The batteries it came with lasted *maybe* two hours lol Nothing a screwdriver and 3 AA batteries couldn't fix! When I replaced the batteries, I saw the ones that had been in there weren't a name brand (or at least not one I recognized) Once I replaced the batteries, they've so far lasted 3 days - so I'd say, plan to replace them pretty early on ...but once you do, it's not like they'll drain that fast moving forward. The spinning of the star with lights causes a bit of vibration and sound - great for sensory input and development! She's also slightly teething and I've noticed she enjoys putting it against her gums as it's running. The first one I ordered came damaged. The way it appeared, it was damaged in transit - but the replacement was hassle free and shipment was prompt! Absolutely no complaints from me as far as that goes. Life happens and the way things were handled was exceptional. The absolute only downside I have is after about 5 to 10 minutes of use it tends to start warming up to the touch. So it's not going to be a toy I'd give her during something like say, a car ride, where it might be difficult to take back if it were getting too warm. We usually give it to her for a period of time then just check it to feel how warm it is and either turn it off or hold onto it for a bit before giving it back. She loves it though! When she saw me take it out of the box (she was busy at the time.and I thought I was being quiet lol) she screeched for joy and frantically started reaching for it from across the room lol she knew exactly what it was. She's extremely possessive when it comes to this wand and it's going to now be one of our big deal toys for muscle work and calming/distraction after immunizations. For the price, it's a steal. Even if I had to purchase one of these a month, it'd be a steal. I don't however think it's built for durability. I'd say, be prepared to replace *fairly* often. Maybe not once a month, but if you're using it daily like we do, maybe once every 2-3 months. ... show more

I am a therapist and purchased this for use in therapy as a reward for students with Autism. It worked perfectly, though it was kind of high priced compared to similar models. It was stolen after 2 weeks, so I’ll never know its durability or longevity. It is too expensive for me to buy another out of pocket (no budget), as it would total $30 just for this one toy. Please donate to your local schools or decrease the price to make it more accessible for children with special needs. ... show more

Great little entertainment device for infants. I bought it with hopes it could entertain my daughter and it does just that. It has a slight vibration when the lights are on and spinning. I can't wait to take it on a road trip!

I’m so disappointed. I was excited to give this toy to my son. He played with it for an hour and then it stopped working, I assumed the batteries died but I didn’t have a screwdriver handy to change it. Anyway I waited about 2 weeks to change the batteries and even with fresh batteries it doesn’t work. My husband is an engineer and I had him look at it, he said the switch is broken. I can’t return it because I no longer have the packaging. This was a complete waste of money. ... show more

The toy is great but breaks easily. I bought 3. One child really has autism the other children don't. 4 year old, 7 year old and 8 year old. From the moment I gave it to them 1 broke each day. By the 3rd day 2 was broken and one has run out of battery life.
