This case is all wood, very attractive and well designed. If you were to buy the pastels, the colored pencils and paints separately without the nice case you would have paid more. My preteen requested an art set for Christmas and I came across this one. It is amazing at just how sturdy this set is. She loved the stacked trays that pull up and out as well as so many different paint options. None of the products were dried up like a different brand from a department store the year before. Bought for a Christmas present. My daughter loves it.
