I went to order a pack of crayons for my daughter and couldn't believe a pack of 64 was $12! It gave me pause, so I was happy to find this art set. It's at great value at $20 for all it includes. The easel (and clips) makes this a perfect all in one unit and I prefer this to the bags of art supplies we've got in storage while moving. The case has a handle for easy transport. The starter paper is very thin and somewhat easy to tear when soaked with a marker. No biggie, put a stack of construction paper in here and its perfect. My daughter is just starting to enjoy art supplies and draw/color on her own. She requested her own art set, she saw I have my own and sisters have drawing sets. She was very specific in she wants to color but also reminded me she loves pink the best.. and unicorns, mermaids and cats are the best. Well this set ticked several boxes off the list immediately. But I did verify the quality because she’s neurodivergent and I didn’t want to set her up to fail with a cute but subpar art set.. we wanted a WIN! Thank goodness we got a win! The set is a dream come true for a budding artist. It would be suitable for a serious child artist from about 5 through 8 or a child who just likes art through about age ten, or whenever they get too big for unicorns or mermaids. (Which might be never. I still love skeletons, and pirates, and superheroes, myself, and I'm a grandma.) All that said, the supplies are definitely child-grade, but there are so many of them, in so many forms, as well as a double easel and storage case, that even my mouth waters at the sight of it all. And I have all the serious art supplies anyone could want. But this is so much fun! Besides, even budding artists with real future careers will gratefully use about any art supply they can get their hands on. Even I used to use burnt sticks and soft rocks as art supplies when that was all I could find. I ordered the kit to use with my six-year-old granddaughter, who is seriously in love with making art. She was even more excited by it than I was. She immediately saw the possibilities. "We can do a blind art challenge with the two-sided easel!" she blurted out. That was my idea, too, I admit. She got permission to stay up late while we explored the set. I have to say it's pretty nice. She was especially excited to be allowed to use oil pastels. So 12 years ago I bought my 17 year old her first little kit like this. Fast forward to today and she is an artist! The things she can do is amazing. I really like to think it's because I got her started pretty early! So I just needed to get this kit for my youngest. And sure enough she won't leave it alone. Being only 3 there are certain items I need to work with her on, but I very much enjoy doing so. This kit has a little bit of everything. I love that it comes with its own stand. Everything fits right back in, and stays in. Also comes with a coloring book and stickers. In my honest opinion I think this kit is well worth the price, given the amount of stuff it comes with. Great variety of coloring supplies and the stickers/note pads are colorful and fun. The markers fit all hands of all sizes (well, kid-wise anyway). The markers worked well and came in colorful colors. They washed off my hands easily enough too (I'm messy). The case is awesome! unicorns on each side but my husband sliced off one of the boards thinking he had to in order to open the case so don't do that! The plastic wrapping doesn't even need to come off either. Everything inside the case was in mint shape, worked great, and is still going strong a week later! Highly recommend! ... show more
