Wide to fit for padding underneath, but fit well enough on just pants. I wear them for reenactments and when I want a cool mad Max look. I'm 5'4 a bit big on legs so they should fit most anyone. They were easily adjustable by putting I'm in a crack on the floor and bending it. The calipers read these as slightly under 16 gauge, more on the side of 18, and they are short, so make sure your upper leg harness covers the upper shin. These will not work for footman greaves with knee cops without modifying.

    • Good construction, but the straps are too short
I’m a little torn on this one. The greaves fir wonderfully and the metal is good, there isn’t a spot of rust when they came in. The only issue I found is that the straps are far too short to wrap around the legs, and I’m a pretty small dude. This doesn’t mean they’re useless, I can fix new straps to them. But ultimately, it shouldn’t be the job of the consumer to make the product useable. I would recommend then still, assuming you’re ok with riveting new straps to the back. ... show more

Over all it’s a good product but the straps way way to short! It could barely buckle closed without a leg in it. I you would have to add new longer ones.

Incorrect description. These are 14th century European half greaves, and fit wonderfully, especially with turn shoes.

    • Wrong size
I was really excited to get these and once i did, the leather straps that came with are entirely to small. I tried putting them on my little brother(who is tiny) and still couldn't get them to fasten around his calfs even after bending the metal intensely. We ended up just settling on zipties

These are great!!! Excellent quality 16g steel and leather work. I had to punch some holes for better fit my old man ankles, but I could not be more pleased with my purchase!!! These arrived the day before the earliest expected delivery date as well. Superb!!!!
