It is stylish and works well so far. It was very difficult to figure out how to get into the battery box. The instructions are very poor in that area.

    • Pretty good light, easy option but might be annoying to maintain more than a few
This light is pretty cool. We got the silver one. It puts out enough light to be useful along a dark walkway or in a closet, although there is only one light element at the top of the unit - you can see how the light output is much less lower down, although there are two little spot lights on the bottom that shine directly downward. And the housing is translucent, so light comes out all around the unit. The motion sensor works, but it seems a little odd - like it takes a bit to reset and sense motion again after being triggered and turning back off. It was hard to figure out how to put batteries in - directions completely omitted that essential bit of info. The back plate slides downward and clicks into place. I found holding it in both hands facing down with the bottom away from me, thumbs on the back plate and pushing the thumbs forward worked best. The first few times it's pretty tough but will loosen up (hopefully not too much). I'm not sure how well the back will stay stuck to any particular surface through many battery replacements considering how hard it can be to open if you can't grasp it like this. The battery life mentioned in the description sounds a bit short for some applications - like a walkway if it's likely to be needed/triggered frequently. I don't have a great way to test how much power it uses just sitting there waiting to trigger, can't really tell from the description if just being in the auto mode uses a lot of power or not. It's nice the switch has on/off/auto - I think this will likely end up in a closet in my house - it puts out a nice level and coverage of light for that application, won't use a lot of battery since I can turn it off, and will be easy to replace batteries. Depending on your need, this could be a much cheaper and less intense option than installing and wiring fixtures. Probably would be too much of a hassle to replace batteries if you need a fleet of them though. It's definitely a good option for kitchen or closet where the potential drawbacks aren't an issue. ... show more

    • Difficult to open the back cover
Overall is nice with brightness and motion detection, the only problem is to open the back cover to load the batteries, it is so hard to open

    • Basic motion sensor light
I wanted to setup a hallway light that is motion activated so that a movement around the dark hallway provides light and I took this one. My findings are - Pros: 1. The product has an aluminum frame in the front and the plastic base at back and even after couple of drops from 12 feet, it looks intact - so, sturdy build and finish. 2. The motion detection is decent and it works at dark, dusk and more than 12 feet of distance, which is nice and more than what I expected Cons: 1. The product comes up with an instruction sheet on how to attach it to the wall but it doesn't say how to separate the base plate. The base plate is plastic and it is hooked to the main unit very tightly. So, it was a really frustrating 15 min to find out which way it will be dislodged and I had to use a screwdriver to slide it downward. I am amazed at the lack of mention of this crucial step and it will simply result in product damage and return (and forget the frustration and research needed to discover this as the Amazon product page also doesn't mention it). 2. I used it with AA battery and I feel that there should have been a brightness control. The light in AA battery is not very bright. Overall, I am not impressed with the installation instruction (or lack of the information on the website) and the brightness otherwise it is a basic motion sensor light. ... show more

    • Easy to install, could be brighter.
This light is easy. It requires batteries that are not rechargeable, but aside from that it is very easy to install – just hang it on the wall, turn it on and you have a motion detecting light. The motion detector works very well but the light isn’t as bright as I hoped it would be.

So the item I got works off 4 AA batteries. I guess they have one that is USB chargeable but mine didn't have the slot opened up. And it took some hard prying to get the back plastic piece off to put batteries in. It wouldn't slide off for me so now I won't put it back on because there is no way I can just slide the unit back on the back plate (after mounting) to replace batteries. 3 light modes to select from - I chose the motion sensor trip so light comes on for about 15 seconds. It is a warm light not too bright so great as a nite light motion sensor on/off. Other than the back plate being difficult to slide on/off is a nice working little light. ... show more

I chose this light as we have a couple lights already in our small hallway closets that are not lighted and we found battery operated lights to affix to wall. This light seemed perfect for our back room which for some reason has lost electricity and due to cost we have not had fixed yet. So needless to say, we thought we'd try this motion activated light as opposed to always using a flashlight. It works great! We affixed to one of our cabinets so as we walk in it turns on and illuminates the room. Since it is not meant to be used in a larger room the lighting is not bright enough to see like normal lighting would be, but it works as well, if not better than a flashlight, so we are happy with it. ... show more

    • Good sensitivity, does not stay on too long
We're using this one in our master bathroom. It has good sensitivity, detects motion within about a ten foot field of view. The brightness is about right. It softly illuminates the room without being too bright for a night light. The documentation says the light color is 3000K (warm white) but looks much cooler than that. It's not a problem, just not what is advertised. We like that it shuts off within fifteen seconds of when there is no more motion to detect. We would have given it five stars but the documentation that comes with it is lacking. Needed to go back to the product page on the Amazon web site to see how to remove the back cover. ... show more
