Description

Programmer Host 1. Support a computer with 4 programmer at the same time burn. 2. Small size, high density, low power consumption, high performance, a really hot synthesis programmer. 3. All chips without external power supply, its own low power to ensure that the USB port can provide enough power. 4. The best internal 40-foot over voltage protection, the strongest VPP, VCC four over-current protection. A short circuit will not reset the PC or programmer. 5. A wide range of chip 15000 + support, support for serial series, parallel series 40/44 / 48PIN large-capacity FLASH. 6. Unique serial programming ICSP interface, also supports serial download and high-speed parallel high-voltage programming. Note: The TL866CS does not support ICSP interface programming. 7. Can really test 74/54 CMOS4000 series integrated circuits. Can be positioned to the door circuit error. 8 chip serial number function is the most complete and practical. 9. original support AVR microcontroller internal RC calibration byte Calibration of the chip mass production operation. So that brute force software can not directly run on another chip of the same type. 10.Automatic detection chip pin bad or wrong insertion, to avoid damage to the device. 11.Size 10cm x 6Ccm x 2.5cm (it is as small as a driving license),You don't need to carry with an external power supply because of its ultra-low power that makes it more portable. • I bought this thing to program just ONE EPROM
I wanted to play old games with the king of PC sound devices [of the late 80s/early 90s]. Sadly, Wing Commander (and others) will crash with the older firmware in my decades-old, ISA, Music Quest “PC MIDI Card”. I didn’t have an MT-32 back when Music Quest was still making MIDI interface cards, so I never knew mine was buggy. Thirty years later, I’ve discovered this fact. Ha. I found a forum discussing the problem (shoutout to VOGONS!). Someone was kind enough to send me the firmware update. I needed to install an EPROM with the fixed firmware onto my MIDI card. Luckily my PC MIDI Card’s existing firmware chip was on a socket (not soldered to the board). I bought two one-time-use EPROMs from DigiKey for $5 (I don’t have a UV eraser for the pulled chips I have sitting around, and that would’ve been another $20+). The process was ugly to see (the software is functional, not pretty), but very easy to accomplish. Don’t be afraid of it like I was. The programmer came in its own labeled packaging (this is getting rare). There was almost zero English on the box. I’m not harshing on Chinese speakers; I just wish products sold in English-speaking countries were packaged appropriately for sale there (and that their software and drivers were appropriately-localized). Inside the box was the programmer, a USB cable, and a small cable shown in the photos that’s not needed for my project. No software was present. An enclosed note said to download the software from the company’s website. Their website is a mess: it’s ugly and MISERABLY SLOW to load. I never did get the software from there. I ended up getting a slightly older version off of Archive dot com. The software managed to connect to the website and tell me there’s a newer version available, but it just sends me to the same worthless website. The old version worked fine for me. If you’re using an EPROM that’s not in the software’s database, then you might need a newer version (or the chip is never going to be supported, like 21v chips, IIRC). It’s a bit disconcerting to have Windows ask me if I want to trust a driver developer whose name I cannot read because it is in Chinese characters. It’s not China that’s the problem; it’s the clear sign of low-quality software that’s the problem. Alas, no turning back... I watched someone on YouTube use this programmer and its software, so I knew what to expect. The software is ugly as sin and fails basic UI norms (after successfully completing a process, you should have a button to “close” the dialog, not “cancel” it), but it worked, and did what I needed it to do. I did NOT try to autodetect my EPROM chip. People have commented in their reviews that auto-detection is problematic, so that’s why I didn’t try it. I picked my EPROM from the software’s database. That worked fine. Programming a 512K EPROM was fast, as was the verifying of said ROM. After programming the one EPROM, I suspect I may never use this thing again. I guess that’s okay. I just wanted to get an old PC DOS gaming machine running as I had desired back in 1990. I’m a bit late to it, but the nostalgia is nice. The programmer & two EPROMs were cheaper than buying a replacement MPU-401-compatible MIDI interface off eBay. Funny thing is... I think I prefer the Adlib music and sound effects during Wing Commander’s combat gameplay moments... Who knows... I might need to write another EPROM to get a working IDE2CF setup on my old Tandy computers... ... show more

  • Good Affordable EEPROM Programmer
I bought this EEPROM programmer for various microcontroller and microprocessor projects. It works as described and can program an amazingly large number of different EEPROM devices. I've used it to program 8K parallel and serial EEPROMs, as well as in-circuit programming of the EEPROM on the ATmega328P microcontroller. I'm not using the provided Windows software utility but am instead using the open-source "minipro" utility which works well and provides a much more convenient command-line interface and runs on Mac OS and Linux. I also successfully updated the firmware on the EEPROM programmer using the instructions provided with minipro. ... show more

  • Problems cannot be fixed as no support, Website most not in English and Their email address is bad
I just received this and began testing it Came with zero software or users documents :( I went to their website which is mostly in Chinese, with a bit of English so could not even know what to select to download the software. Their support forum is useless as again little English and in sending them a email to address they show bounces back so cannot get to support for problems I found in testing In testing AMD 27C256 28 pin DIP, selecting that from their device menu all 6 new Eproms failed as their software stating wrong type I then selected other makes of this same E-prom type and they also failed By chance I turned off the "Check ID" and again selecting the correct AMD and then all 6 E-proms were seen Also when clicking on Check ID, it does not tell you in fact what a E-prom is but rather then shows the make of the chip you selected in their device menu I was told before buying that this product would do a auto selection so it should pick the device config on it's own but does not which is a real negative as many E-proms used like in vehicle engine controllers are not printed as to maker or size but the nameplates part number so auto selection is needed as other makers of E-prom burners like Chipmax does in fact do that Without a valid vendor support's email address or a website in full English you have zero support and Amazon should pull this vendors products until they correct that and also inform customers exactly where they can get updates such as E-proms supported and methods for customers to be able quickly get support as they being in China and your in different time zones no way to real time contact them ... show more

  • Works with WIndows 10 after some config
I thought this was defective and had it replaced. Turns out that the "Pin Detect" works sporadically and the "Check ID" settings prevented the burner from reading, writing, or verifying chips. I found that it worked perfectly once these settings were disabled with AMD 27C512 chips. Good luck!

  • Doesn't Come with Software CD as it Claims, You'll Need to Download from Foreign Site
I needed an EPROM burner for pinball machine ROMs, but can't stand downloading things from foreign sites. The TL866II claims it comes with the software on a CD, so while this model is pricier than others, I liked the safety of not having to download from a non-trustworthy site. When it arrived, it came with no software CD, and instead states in its manual that due to frequent updates to the product, you need to download the software from a website. My other gripe is that the pre-loaded info for the chips I was using was incorrect in their software package, but this is easily corrected by manually adding the chip's info. Other than these two issues, the device does work well and burns ROMs relatively fast. ... show more

  • This is not compatible with older arcade ROMs
This device has no support for the older ROMs used in arcades. I am restoring a Ms. Pac and after checking 3 Ms. Pac Boards and one Pac board none of the rams are listed for this device to read/write. After searching their website I conformed I can not use his to program my arcade ROMs.

  • Works well
Unlike other seller's product, this one works. Do need to download the new software from the manufacture website but this product works without any issue.
