    • Great headset for telephone calls -- not great for music or gaming
The media could not be loaded. Right on the box of the Arama A602USB headset, it states that it is a "Call Center Headset." This gives me an image of a group of people in a large room, each person in a small cubicle, all making sales calls. Of course, a headset that is optimized for telephone calls will work in places other than a call center, but the point is that the Arama A602USB headset is targeted at people who need a headset for phone calls. For this application, the A602USB works brilliantly. It is comfortable, has easy-to-use controls, and has clear punchy sound from its microphone and earpieces. If you have a phone calling app on your computer (or Zoom, Skype or other conferencing app), using the Arama A602USB headset is a breeze. I just plugged it into Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers, and the computer immediately recognized it. I could get sound from any source on the computer, and the microphone was automatically fed into the app I chose. Really easy. The build quality of the Arama A602USB headset is very good. The cord seems rugged (as I mention in the video), the control module is a good size for anyone's fingers, and the headset fits comfortably. I discuss the fit in my video. If you use this every day for hours at a time, you will wear it out. Fortunately, the Arama A602USB is inexpensive, and buying a replacement is not a big burden. If you run a call center and supply these to your employees, you should keep a couple of spares handy. Which brings up the sound quality. The Arama A602USB headset is made for voice intelligibility. That's it: voice only. Of course, you can play music on it, but the sound in the earpieces is set to optimize the spoken voice and not music. Likewise, the mic on the Arama A602USB has a punchy quality that works really well for voice intelligibility. It does not have the deep resonant quality that you want for a podcast mic. Watch my video, in which I demo the Arama's mic vs. the mic on an Onn headset from Walmart. If your goal is to get a comfortable headset with great voice intelligibility, the Arama A602USB is a terrific product at a great price. If you will want to listen to music or do gaming using the same headset -- between phone calls, perhaps -- you probably want a different headset. I purchased this headset for primarily for use in the many virtual meetings I have to attend. They came well packaged, and I was very pleased to see that a USB to USB-C adapter was included. This saved me from having to purchase one as my work laptop connects via USB-C and my home PC with USB. The sound quality is excellent, and I find them very comfortable for a headset. I found the ear padding on previous headsets to be sub-standard. With this headset, I sometimes forget that I am wearing them! The microphone works well. The feedback I have received from other virtual meeting attendees is that I my voice is coming through clearly. I needed a new headset to work from home, purchased this headset and it didn't work. The person on the other end of the phone couldn't hear me. It appears the microphone didn't work. If the manufacturer fixes the issue, I will revise my post based on resolution. Company contacted me, replaced headset and refunded my money. The new headset is a little bulky but work good. The headset was compatible with my HP computer and was straightforward to setup. The voice quality and sound was good and the noise canceling functionality worked. My colleagues mentioned they couldn't hear any background noise. Would recommend especially if you're WFH with pets or children.
