    • Great pump for the money
The pump replaced a non variable-speed pump that went out after 2.5 years. My set up Is an inground, approx 16,000 gallon liner pool. This pump was an easy direct replacement to my other pump. Some minor changes were made in pump location so I used new PVC in some areas. I cut electrical plug and wired directly to 240 already supplied to existing pump and it works like a charm. Noise level was not as quiet as I hoped for but Its still quite than the last pump which was only a 1.65 HP. Moves water much faster than my other pump. Ive only had pump in for a week or so. If any updates or surprises I will update this review. But for now, great buy for the money! ... show more

    • Do not buy unless you want to waste money!!!
This is a very cheaply made piece of garbage. I would recommend not buying it. After installing this pump it would run for 2 to 3 minutes and then get hot and shut off after sitting for 2 to 3 minutes it would start back up and run for 2 to 3 minutes and shut back off and that is all it would do. This was the second one of these pumps I had bought the first one worked ok for about 2 months and then locked up and after taking it apart I found that it had gotten water inside the motor and allowed the inside of the motor to start rusting. Which was the reason it locked up. Also after having the first pump pulled apart all the material used in this pump is very cheap material that I would never expect it to last. This pump is not worth buy do yourself a favor and spend just a little more money and get a higher quality pump. This seller should be banned from selling on Amazon due to the amount of items returned and the reviews are very miss leading as to all positive reviews are listed first and all negative reviews are listed so far down on the list you really have to search for them. ... show more

I’ve had this pump running for about 3 weeks now and no issues. I’ve read other reviews and this was so easy to hook up. We lost our other pump in a flood. It was the second in less than a year. We lost the last one during hurricane Ian. I refused to pay another $2k+. I turned on the timer for 10 hours and everyday like clockwork the pump comes on for 10 hours without me having to turn it on. It runs my fountains the same as the $2K pump. Only thing is if you turn it off the clean the basket it resets the timer. All in all I highly recommend this pump for those tired of paying for over priced pumps. ... show more

Initially I was very happy when I received the pump. Reading the instructions, it was pretty straight forward and easy to install. I turned it on and it was super quiet so I thought I had a winner. It ran for about a full minute and then it shut off. After about another minute had passed, it came back on and ran for about another minute again. It kept doing this process for the entire time that I set the timer for. The pump does feel hotter than my old pump did while running so I'm not sure if that's the problem or not. I sent an email to their "service" department, as the warranty and paperwork says, but no one responded. The thing is junk. I would not suggest anything from Aquastrong at this point. Steer clear. UPDATE: The company has reached out to me and offered to send a new pump. I will update the review after I receive and install that one. Update 5/6/24: the company reached out to me and said that they wanted to make things right so they sent a new pump. It was hooked up over the weekend and everything works great. ... show more

    • Stopped working
This pump has stopped working after 5 months and says it has a two year warranty but there is no way to contact the company in order to get the replacement.

This pump replaced a broken pump that when we bought our home 3 years ago never worked. When we finally turned it on in under a minute we noticed this pump, 60’ Away from our in ground Hot tub filled the large basket in the pump 3/4 full of sludge, leaves and dirt that had been sitting in the pump system for years. Thank God I bought the 2 Hp model as I don’t think the 1 HP could of cleared the line. 1. Get an electrician to properly wire this. We dont have the kind of breaker that we could piggy tail on. 2. The screws to remove the timer box are a odd Y shape. But we were able to get them off and with a spade connector for each empire it is better insulated. 3 Plumbing wasn’t that hard but faster if you know someone who has installed pool pumps before. Overall vs the 1.5 HP we had before yes there is more pressure in the jets in the hot tub. The water fall is stronger etc. So far we are loving the pump. ... show more

I purchased a pump in April of last year, and it worked great for most of the summer. However, it started to shut off after a few minutes of running, and I was outside of the support window. I purchased one in October, but my pool was already in bad shape, so I drained it and installed the pump two weeks ago when we filled the pool for summer. From installation, I assume it constantly turns on and off due to heat, as other reviews have mentioned. I liked the performance of the first pump, but I cannot spend any more money on this brand.
