Having a extra is a must. I'm glad I bought a couple and will probably buy another for my boy. Easy to use, if beads are even a little wet and go inside they'll get stuck, just tap the pen to bring bead to tip and I used a knife to break the bead apart. Worth it!

    • Really helpful but way overpriced
The media could not be loaded. This bead pen is really helpful to pick the beads up out of the container and set them down in the general area on the board, or to clean up a board after it has been mistakenly knocked with an arm and needs to be started over. My 5 year old likes using it a lot. But I paid $8.50 for it and itโ€™s definitely worth about $3. On the manufacturers website the list price is $3.99 if you want a few and it may be worth it to pay the shipping cost. I wanted to get my daughter a pen to go with the Frozen set since it didnโ€™t come with it, so I purchased this. But I also at the same time bought my son the Aquabeads Beginners Studio for $14.99, and that came with its own pen. I should have just bought 2 of the Beginner Studios. I would recommend just buying a whole set that comes with a pen if you want oneโ€”it would definitely be worth paying the extra $6.50 to get way more beads and an extra tray to use while your first project is drying. ... show more

    • Really useful, but is a standard pen that sometimes comes free with studio sets.
As mentioned above, this pen can be really handy to do quick rows of color and is sturdy, but is made for smaller hands and can be hard to fill. You can also get these pens in some studio sets, though, and buying it individually can be a bit pricey. Good quality, though, I like it better than the wheel-style pens. ... show more
