If you're a Mac user and need a keyboard solution for your computer, either laptop or desktop, you can't go wrong with this device. Yes, it's expensive (I suggest looking for it used, first) for such a simple device, but it's Apple, so it should be expected. That said, you are also getting an Apple designed product--it feels premium, well designed and works exactly as it should. It's incredibly thin and compact (the same size as the keyboard on the macbook pro and just a bit thicker than a cell phone), barely weighs anything, and the battery lasts forever. It's a great option if you need a keyboard for traveling. The keys have a little more "oomph" than my 2015 Macbook Pro's keys, making them more satisfying to press. I think the only thing to be aware of is that you may want to purchase a wrist wrest. I found my wrists being strained by the keyboard's form factor, but this was remedied by raising them above the board. ... show more

Arrived shipped in a flat envelope, but no issues with damage to its packaging. My 2015 MacBook Pro 15" on El Capitan recognized the keyboard and it worked immediately upon turning it on (the power switch is quite small and takes a decent amount of force to move, so there's no chance you'll ever accidentally turn it off). It does work while plugged in through the lightning port, so you can continue to use it as it charges if need be. The size matches my MacBook exactly, minus the directional keys which have been modified in a slightly annoying fashion, but I'll get used to it. The keystrokes are crisp with good feedback and overall not too noisy. I don't feel that I'll gain or lose any speed in my typing ability. I've seen other reviewers complain about the angle of the keyboard, saying that it's too flat, but I find it completely normal given that I type mostly on a laptop anyhow. If you require something more ergonomic then I suggest getting ready to create some sort of customized adjustment to the keyboard's angle or shopping for a different product altogether. Overall I'm delighted. Having a bluetooth keyboard means one less wire on my desk, and the keyboard's aesthetic matches my laptop, stand, and monitor. If there are any quality control issues I'll edit my review to reflect so, but in general I've had very good experiences with Apple products over the last eight years. ... show more

    • GREAT, imperfect new keyboard for Apple fans
If you're a fan of Apple's Wired and Wireless keyboards, you're likely to enjoy the Magic Keyboard. Pros: It's everything good about those keyboards, just streamlined. It sits flatter, it's compact like a mouse pad, the keys are shallower for quicker and snappier key strokes. The internal rechargeable battery is a plus if you don't want to mess with batteries, especially on the go. Looks cool. Cons: Overpriced - for its incremental improvements, $70 would've been fair. No backlit keys - this was a serious missed opportunity. Compatibility - if you're running anything prior to El Capitan, you won't be able to use the media function keys. Bright/Dim, Mission Control, and Launchpad function keys will work. As a writer, my priorities in a keyboard are crisp keys, very low typing fatigue, and a small footprint. The Magic Keyboard accomplishes all three better than the outgoing Apple Wireless Keyboard. ... show more

It is a great keyboard ! It’s light weight and has quiet typing . No batteries ! Easily charged by using USB port . It is very sleek in appearance.

    • Great product, but beware of getting someone's return
I type on an Apple Magic Keyboard every day and find them to be easy to use, with very good battery life. They easily pair with Macs, iPads, and Apple TVs. I'm giving 5 stars for the product, but no stars for the sales experience. The keyboard I received was obviously one that had been returned. I buy Apple gear all the time, and the boxes are always wrapped in plastic -- this was not. Upon opening the box I noticed the plastic sleeve the keyboard was in was upside down. There's a small tab that makes it easy to pull the keyboard out of the box. This was facing down, under the keyboard, instead of up. And, the shipping box was way oversized for the product and had only two small pieces of packing paper, so the box was pretty well smashed. Again, the product performs just fine, but I am returning it. Used products ought to be identified as "open box" to buyers and not sold under the pretense of being new. ... show more
