  • Great Keyboard - Some niggles, but worth it, even at the price.
Style: US English Color: Black
Ok so this is my first Apple branded iPad keyboard. I bought my M2 Air a few weeks ago at microcenter and also picked up a logitech combo touch. I was happy with that case but soon enough was plagued with issues like the keyboard not connecting and having to reboot the iPad and connect the keyboard to the case a certain way. So annoying. I started looking at alternatives and was thinking about the ESR case but then stumbled upon the “used, like new” option on the magic keyboard. It just works. Pros: - Immediate connection. - No hassles; I can pull the iPad off and use it as a tablet and then snap it back onto the keyboard case with no issues reconnecting. - Looks good. I really like the cantalever effect when I open up the case. The iPad floating is kind of neat. - Typing experience: this is nice to type on, I’m fairly accurate even for an 11” iPad. It’s small, but that’s fine. I had a Duet 3 and it was about the same size. - Backlighting is perfect and I love the keys glowing just perfectly in a low light condition. Cons: - Weight. This thing makes the iPad kind of heavy, but I’ll be carrying it in a backpack for my upcoming trip so that’s not a big deal. - Size. I have the 11” and it’s a little small, but like I said above, I came from a Duet 3 and it was about the same size. - Price. Holy cats, I bought this as a ”used, like new” and it was still $200. - No edge protection. That’s the only advantage the logitech offered. - No flap for the Apple Pencil. This is a niggle and if I want it, I can buy an ESR case with the flap to hold the pencil. Overall? This is a great option for a keyboard to turn your iPad into a semi-laptop/netbook. I love how easy it is to connect and just use. ... show more

  • Comfortable for Writers
Style: US English Color: White
As a writer and author, I’m very happy with this keyboard case because it feels comfortable to type on and carry. It closes like a laptop, which I love. No, it doesn’t fold all the way back to use as a tablet, but it wasn’t made for that. Typing is the focus, hence my review title. I’d rather have this caveat than a keyboard case that folds all the way back but with a weaker typing experience. I type a lot, so this is great for on-the-go use. I’m used to writing on my Windows 10 laptop, but because it’s a gaming one, it’s too clunky and heavy to lug around. That’s not the case with this keyboard case. It’s light enough to be comfortable but not as light as other cases. The touchpad is so great, just like many reviews mentioned, because of its smoothness and response. I actually bought a Magic Mouse and hardly even use it because of the trackpad. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t even use trackpads because I generally don’t like them. It’s that comfortable, and it saves me from having to wipe my fingerprints off the iPad screen. That said, when typing, I’d probably turn it off and use the mouse because I have big hands that occasionally brush against the trackpad by accident. The keys have a bluish backlight that’s not too bright, just nice and soft, and the caps key has a light indicator that’s useful. In fact, I won’t use a keyboard without it because I sometimes hit the key by accident and end up having to backspace the caps letters. The case also comes with a usb-c port on the opposite side of the built-in one on the iPad device, which is always useful because I don’t like all the ports on one side only. By the way, be careful with disinfectant wipes because I used one lightly on the case, and it felt just a tad bumpy or off or something to where I feared it could ruin the material. It seems fine now, but I won’t risk it again. Use at your own risk. I mentioned the caveat of not being able to fold the case all the way back, which doesn’t bother me. What does bother me, at least a bit, is the lack of function keys that are normally up top. It’s not enough to take off a star for the rating, but still. Those keys are just convenient to have. I suppose it’s just how the case was designed with regular typing as the focus. Oh, well. I know the case is pricey, which is unfortunate, but it really was worth the investment because of my particular use. I definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • The best iPad key, At the worst price
Style: US English Color: Black
After buying a new M2 iPad Pro (11”), I wanted to also get a keyboard for it. Along with a Apple Pencil. After looking at Logitech, which I would likely recommend over this for the price. Even though those are pretty costly too. The typing experience feels just like my Macbook, which has one of the best keyboards on a laptop. Add to that a great clickly trackpad that is good size, and comfortable to use. Not to mention, adding a extra USB-C port, which is great for charging the iPad while keeping it’s USB-C port open for faster transfer speeds. The keyboard as a case is well made, Very Apple as it weighs a lot compared to the iPad you put in it! Though the magnets hold the iPad securely, It’s easy to yank it off when you just want to hold your tablet. Backlit keys are great, very bright. And that’s about where the pro’s end… First and foremost, The price for this thing is insane! You’re very limited in viewing angles, and the fact that the keyboard has NO function keys?!?! That’s unforgivable!!! However, I’m so happy I bought the over priced keyboard. I really do enjoy it, and it’s added a ton of utility to my iPad. As with most things made by Apple, You get what you pay for. It’s a really solid addition to the iPad, with a few limitations, and lacks a few features it should have at this price point. If you need a keyboard that is close to a MacBooks, Then I can recommend this. Just try and find it on a sell. ... show more
