This hard drive can be used as a hard disk with a capacity of 1TB or as a power bank or power source of 10000mAh. It's easy to use on the my iphone, just download the application of"iDiskk Pro" and then connect the drive to iphone. No APP is needed. Once you connect it, it is ready to use via USB or USB C port. It is certified by the Apple company so the quality is secure. Once you connect it to the IPhone, with the lightning cable it will automatically ask you to install the free iDiskk Pro app, with it you can also transfer all the photos or a backup of your contacts, in my case I needed it because my iPhone is full and the icloud as well and I feel more secure having it physically, as the capacity of 1TB is enough without space problems. Besides, while you have it connected to the phone, you are charging its battery, by the power bank function, which with some LEDs indicates the remaining charge level. As I said the disk is very useful, and complete, the size is larger than 2.5 hard drives but its not heavy for size. It comes very complete with a set of 4 types of cables with all the combinations that we might need, as the product arrives in its box can take full advantage. Points to mark: - Easy to use even if you have no knowledge - Design and quality very friendly to Apple users. - Bring all the cables which may need. - Free software.     • ZERO SUPPORT, NOTHING HELPFUL ON WEBSITE!

The device itself looks good and seems to work well. The overwhelming negative is the complete lack of product support! 1. There is NO North American phone number to call, let alone a USA number. You need to call an overseas number! 2. It is impossible to register the device on the website . 3. The website information, support etc consists of a SINGLE WEBPAGE , with zero interactivity. The only way you can contact the manufacturer is through an email address. The Amazon support folks tried to help but they ran into the same frustration that I experienced. You would think that all these things would have been pre-planned and implemented ... but that has not happened to date. So what should be an exciting accessory turns out to be an initial disappointment. Hopefully, the manufacturer will wake up and address this is serious shortcoming! ... show more

    • Glitchy product, App crashes often, does not work

This is a great idea but unfortunately it does not work as it should. I was able to download the app as per the few written directions that came with the unit. Plugged in 2 different iPhones and continued getting a message “iDiskk is not connected”. After many attempts finally I was able to have it connect to a phone and after several minutes of it appearing to download photos the app crashed and nothing was saved. I patiently repeated this process 6-7 more times with the same unsuccessful result. I am passed the 30 day return window with amazon so I contacted the company via email through amazon and was told I can return the unit to their USA address and they would repair and refund my shipping cost. I will update as to how this turns out. At this point my confidence in this company is fairly low but I hope to be pleasantly surprised. ... show more

I have had this device now for about 10 days. Even though it works pretty much as stated in the Amazon ad it is has 1 serious flaw. The device ONLY works through their app. Unlike the WD My Passport or the SanDisk iXpand devices this device (when connected to an iPhone or iPad) is NOT visible through the iOS File Manager which makes it difficult to work with other apps besides iOS photos and videos. The other devices link seamlessly through iOS File Manager allowing file transfers through Dropbox, iCloud, Google Cloud etc. so be sure that you only intend to use it natively with photos and videos before you purchase it. Note: when using a pc or Mac you can easily create folders and store any files but they are difficult to use via the iPhone or iPad. I replaced the slow hard drive (for speed and reliability) with a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD and it works perfectly. Speeds for files above 4KB are just over 250MB/second. It does not hit the 500MB/second that SSD is capable of but that is likely due to the drives hardware and/or provided cable. Just be careful opening up the device so you do not break any of the tabs. Seriously the best thing for my wife - she had way too many photos on her phone that she wanted backed up somewhere that wasn’t the cloud. She had too many photos when she tried plugging her phone into the computer it would all crash. So she was skeptical of this working but it worked great plugging straight into the phone and she was able to back them up and delete them. And she’s doing it regularly now to keep her phone free of space. ... show more
