As much as I love the EarPods Pro 2, they would bother the insides of my ears after prolonged use. The Max’s outer ear design works wonderfully and has great sound. Also, the noise cancellation seems to work better than the Pro 2 as it cut my wife out completely (I can usually hear her with the Pro 2 with noise cancellation). Transparent mode is very good too. I love the color of these headphones and the audio, especially with ANC, is great. I've also been told that the sound quality from the microphone is really clear to those on the other side of the call line.

The noise cancelling and audio are on par with the Sony WH-1000xm5s and the latest Bose but the microphones for hands free phone use are mediocre. I'm very happy I purchased them as the Sony headphones are cheap plastic (and the Bose are also not very durable) but these headphones are made out of metal and so far seem to be much sturdier. If you just use noise cancelling headphones occasionally for plane flights or leave them next to the computer for gaming go buy the Sony headphones. OTOH if you live in headphones 24/7 and fall asleep in them get these. Also the integration with Siri is great. For the first time ever it is actually convenient to use Siri handsfree. I wouldn't pay the extra money for that but a nice extra. -- Don't bother with the 3rd party protective silicone cover. It doesn't really seem to be necessary and is annoying. ... show more
