Description

The 3/4 in. Tectite by Apollo Push-To-Connect 3-Way Ball Valve is unique in that it can function as diverter valve or mixing valve . It is the fastest, cleanest and simplest way to install or replace a 3-way ball valve on copper, CPVC, PE-RT and PEX piping systems without the use of tools, solder, open flame or glue. The quarter turn, single lever control allows for simple control of water flow in hydronic and potable water systems. Simply insert the pipe to allow the high-strength stainless steel teeth to grip the pipe securely against the specially designed o-ring. Fitting removal and reuse is just as simple using a simple demount clip (sold separately). After assembly, valves may be rotated for simpler installation in tight spaces. The valve includes both red and blue handle inserts to all the user to indicate hot and cold water lines with just a glance.

  • Not bad, could use a better bite
Very nifty product for those who know what you’re doing as well as those who are building a custom draining system. It’s actually quite odd that there’s not many more bifurcating valves like this. My chief complaint is that the teeth used to grip onto the PEX pipe i’m not as strong as I expected. After mounting and removing 2x. It was fairly loose and the plastic insert began to fall out. Maybe it’s user error on me but I know with other brands I haven’t encountered this issue as badly. Nevertheless if I need another valve like this I know where to come back. ... show more

  • Great! Simplifies water filter bypass setup.
Works well to simplify water filter bypass setup - 2 vs 3 valves. Simpler routing and less expensive overall. Have connected it for just a week so far; but no leaks. Comparable to Sharkbite but slightly more wiggle room at the pipe connection.

  • Used 2 while installing a bypass circuit around my whole house water filter
Installed a whole house water filter and a activated carbon canister system. The diagram suggested installing a bypass water circuit using straight ball valves, elbows and T fittings. This was much simpler, cutting down on the total number of fittings needed and number of potential leaks, and actually give more options for water control. Yes, these are a little pricey, but cheaper than the total cost for 2 or 3 components to accomplish the same thing. They seem very well made - good castings and heavy components - and I joined copper to PEX with no fuss. I really like that they can be turned after installation to help align things, as opposed to sweating copper pipe which can be fussy in tight quarters to get just right where you want it. ... show more

  • Works for diversion/ not really mixing
I use these valves to divert my water main to and from my RO system. They work well as diverters. It says you can use them for mixing as well.. I suppose you could but wouldn't count on any precision with that.

  • Absolute garbage! Don’t waste your money!
I’ve been using shark bite for decades. Never had an issue. Ever! Bought two of these and they BOTH leaked after only a few months. Took them off the pex and saw the o-rings were worn. How???? They have not moved. Not been bumped or even touched. Walked into the basement one day only to discover puddles of water right below both of these pieces of garbage. Wish I could give zero stars. These are not cheap to buy. They are certainly cheaply made. ... show more

  • Works perfect with PEX
It's a press-on valve. It fits on PEX perfectly. No leaks. Diverts water as needed. It does what it's supposed to do.
