I am very happy with this temperature retention mug! It is a 12.8 fluid ounce ceramic mug with a nice hand feel and look. The Charging Pad works for mug and phone and has a 4-foot long USB-C cable. I got this because I keep making cocoa and tea and then forgetting it and it gets cold. Enter this mug! To be clear, this is a Consistent Temperature RETENTION mug - Thus, it is NOT for the initial brewing or heating of the cup of water, it is for keeping the cup of brew you made hot. How it has worked... I make tea, cocoa and coffee and put it in the mug. When I first make them, they are about 160° F. On the charging pad, the hot drink cools very slowly down to 130° F and stays at 130° F. I have measured this with a thermometer. It has kept my drink at 130° F for about 3 hours while I sipped it until I finish it! If I don't touch my cup for over an hour, the charging pad will time out and my drink will cool. If it cooled to 125° F and I take a sip and return my cup to the pad, the pad will start maintaining the heat again and keep it at 125° F. I have forgotten a full drink for a few hours and it cooled to room temperature. I put a thermometer in to see what happens when I restart the charging pad and it actually heated from room temperature (65°F) up to110-120°F, which is just a warm drinking temperature, where 130° F is a perfect temperature. Heating a cup of liquid is not what it is intended for, but I was curious! So, no, you can't brew tea with it. I can tell when the pad is on because the blue light will "breath" on and off. When the blue light is just off, the pad is off. The 1-hour off timer restarts whenever I take a sip or lift the cup! I actually wish the timer was 2-hours, because I get sidetracked! I love to make a big cup of tea, cocoa or coffee and sip it slowly in the morning and it is really nice that, an hour later, it is still hot at perfect drinking temperature! Works very well. Bottom gets hot. Perhaps the other complaining users for a bad mug or older/different model, but my experience is great so far. Mine looks the same as the product image (I noticed one user’s photo was of a straight mug—mine has tapered sides).

    • Worthless! And I bought 4.
I bought 4 of these for family as gifts. Who would not want a hot cup of coffee or cocoa? Of the 4, only my brother was brave enough to tell me that it is worthless. The bottom does not heat - by design. It is supposed to heat the bottom of the cup by induction, but it is so weak that it the cup ends up cooling off after pouring hot coffee into it. He said my mom is now using hers to charge her new iPhone. Amazon sells induction chargers for less than $15, which I guess is all this is worth. With the iron in the cup, the cup is not microwaveable, so you can't even re-heat that way. Don't waste your money and time. ... show more

Neat little way to keep you coffee warm while at the office. I like the style and simplicity of the charger and warmer. If you like you coffee extremely hot you may consider something else but it does keep it warm enough to be enjoyable. Well constructed with a sleek look. Has a little lid to keep the warmth in.     • Doesn't heat up too well, and turns off too early
I bought several of these as gifts and have tested 3 of them my self. The first one seemed to heat up pretty well so went ahead and sent 3 out as gifts in a gift basket. Then I used one that I saved for myself and it didn't really get very warm nor did it keep it very warm for very long. The first one seemed good, almost too hot to touch at the bottom of the cup, but the others never really got that hot. I am a little embarrassed that I gave these as gifts. The wireless charger works pretty decent and registers on the phone as "fast" wireless charging. If there was a way to make it stay on for longer I think it could be good, but unfortunately I am away from my desk long enough for it to turn off and turn cold during the morning. The look is nice and feels like a quality item, so if they could at lease tweek the timer I think it could be worth while. ... show more
