I've got Plantar Fasciitis, which kills to walk on. I read that keeping off it for 1-4 weeks helps. Since I'm not that great at hopping, I opted for a cane. I've used canes before, that use that twist action to supposedly stop it from collapsing under the weight, but it always does. It also skids out sideways too often for me to trust it. Keeping it near me means leaning it against the wall, or a chair, or laying it on the floor. It's always falling over if I try to lean it, and it's pretty dirty if I lay it down out in public. Pros: * This cane stands up on it's own! Yay! No more laying it down, or leaning it against the wall. * This cane is sturdy when I walk. I put all my weight on it, and it doesn't collapse, or skid out sideways. * It is adjustable in length, but uses the 'pop out button & hole' method, rather than the 'twist & pray' method to stop it from collapsing. Much safer. * It does have a second handle to help you get up from a chair. It's a bit awkward to me, but it might be good, if you need it. Cons: * I occasionally kick the feet on the bottom, when walking. Not a deal breaker, but it does hurt quite a bit, when it happens. Of course, that helps you to remember to keep your feet inside the ride, so you don't kick it again. : ) Overall, this is the best cane I've seen. It's lightweight, sturdy, and that whole standing up on it's own is a real bonus. I can't say enough how great that feature is. I never feel like it's going to kick out sideways, and I love not having to lay it on the filthy floor whenever I sit down in public, or use the facilities. ... show more

Great concept with the extra handle to get up. Unfortunately as a handicapped person with ALS it still requires a lot of leg strength to stand from the seated position. I can be sitting holding the top handle and flip the side one down, but sitting with my legs bent at my knees it takes a good boost to stand up and just arm strength with the handles isn't enough. But still a well made cane that slows me down from walking too fast by placing the four feet down flat before stepping ... show more

This cane is perfect for me. The extra handle to help get up really does take the pressure off so you can stand up. The 4 prong bottom is sturdy and give you the confidence you need. The little note inside as so sweet too. So very satisfied.

It's a nice looking cane, but there's no way I would ever use it, as it is not stable at all, even with no weight put on it. It actually shakes when there is weight on it. Do not recommend this cane at all.
