I bought this after doing a review of all of the available motorized ratchets, to assess which might meet the needs of a weekend auto mechanic (hence the first person). I've used everything from Black and Decker to Makita to Milwaukee to Husky tools, as well as Harbor Freight, all of which have their pro's and con's. After looking extensively and trying out some of the various options from friends and the stores, I settled on the Aoben, based on cost, durability, the two batteries, and the 2000 mAh ratings (as well as the various reviews out there). When I got the kit, I tested the amount of charge on one of the batteries, assuming they'd be close to one another. The other one I put on the charger to see how long it would take to charge. Battery 1 was able to get through an afternoon of wrenching, pulling out various bolts from from the engine and transmission of an air cooled vehicle. I'd say I used it all told about a half hour, dropping it twice when reaching for some tight areas under the hood. (I used it outside of the motorized aspect as well - it's a 'regular' ratchet wrench as well). No issue with that. It still had charge, and when I put it on the charger it took about 35 minutes to fully charge. The smaller head was able to get into some cramped areas, which was greatly appreciated particularly when one can only 'feel' but not 'see' the nut. Battery 2 took about 48 minutes to charge (from red to green on the indicator), and the swap was fairly easy - it's a bit tight for the batteries, but only took a modicum of pulling to get it out. The functionality was no issue with both the tool and the metric sockets that came with the kit. I was also using my old hex attachments which were longer, and I didn't have any issues with those either. I did notice I scraped the plastic just above the battery when the tool got caught on the hood brace, but otherwise the two drops (from about waist height) didn't seem to cause any issue. Of note this is made in China - like virtually all of the other motorized ratchet wrenches I looked at (Makita and Kimo being the exceptions). At least for a weekend mechanic, the Aoben works well for what I need it for, and potentially even more than that. It isn't as heavy as some of the others, it's well balanced, and as noted, it can fit into some tight areas which others might not be able to do so. Although I wish the finish was a bit better (that plastic scrape was my fault, though), I'm otherwise pleased with the tool, the batteries, and the sockets. Very pleased that I found this and ordered it. I didn't realize that there was a ratchet with such good torque for the size. I was reading a tractor forum and a cordless ratchet was highly recommended for the project I was reading about. The first ones I saw were very expensive. Then I found this one at a very reasonable price and with good reviews. So here are my thoughts and observations. The first thing I noticed was that in came in a nice sturdy case with sockets included. Then I was surprised by the weight of the ratchet, without the battery in it! It would seem to be well made, likely with metal internals versus plastic gearing from the weight and solid feel of it. It comes with 2 batteries as shown and the charger. It runs quietly and ratchets similar to a manual ratchet. FWD/REV controls are easy and changing direction is smooth. The LED indicators are helpful for charging. The unit fits your hand well and squeezing the lever is easy. The unit feels powerful, though I've not yet got to try it on something really tough to loosen. However, you can use it like a manual ratchet as well. I'm looking forward to using it on some upcoming projects. ... show more

This thing is great! Love the compactness of it, the battery life, & how fast the batteries charge. Nice carrying case with included sockets (bits are cheap quality but didn't purchase it for them). Also has a surprising amount of torque. Used it to rebuild a transmission & it worked better than I'd hoped. While using it as a regular ratchet, it can withstand a considerable amount of force to break free bolts that *should've been torqued to 50+ ft lbs (but felt much tighter than that). Only complaint is the power "lever", it sticks out a little further than I'd like (perhaps I'll modify it later). Don't have need of the safety switch, & last complaint is that, again, when using it as a regular ratchet, you have to rotate it quite a bit for it to grab the next tooth. ... show more

I decided to construct raised beds for my garden. The first afternoon I spent hours finger tightening bolts and then going back w a wrench to tighten them up. And I didn’t get through a third of the job! Along came this wonderful tool, and the next day I finished the entire job in just a couple of hours. This ratchet made quick work of hundreds of bots, and tightened them more firmly than I would likely have done with just a wrench. I particularly like that it comes in a hard-sided case, so all the pieces remain together. It even comes with a basic set of various sizes of bits (is that the word for the thing that fits over the nut?). The batteries fully charge quickly, and last a long time. There are two, so you don’t have to interrupt your work to charge a battery — use one while the other charges. Also, it’s great that you just have to squeeze a lever for it to operate. No switches, no button to depress. I highly recommend this for household tasks. ... show more

Worked good even after some abuse. Screws stripped out about 5 months in, hard to find the thread size. 11 months in the head only worked one way. Luckily all these made in China products use the same 38mm/1.5" head which you can buy anywhere online. Type in "Square Drive 10mm " to find the head. Still works after head replacement. Sockets that came with set don't last long. Battery clip broke and hard to find a replacement. ... show more
