    • Perfect ceiling light for a closet
This ceiling light replaces an old 1990s light in our master closet. It's one of those things where you don't realize how huge of a difference something like this makes until you have it there....and WOW does it make a difference! The main white light is incredibly bright, and the colored LED lights that go around the edge are pretty good as well. However, you'll note that you can't have both the colored and main light on at the same time - which makes sense to some degree except that it might be nice to have the main light on very low with the colored ones also on. Installation was very easy Once I got the old light down, it was a matter of putting up the ceiling bracket, connecting the three wires (black, white, green) to their appropriate matches, and then twisting the light on. It sits flush to the ceiling as advertised. The remote worked right out of the box, and the app works fine as well - though I'm not sure I have much of a reason to use it, as once you get everything set up with Alexa, your an control it by voice. The only problem I'm having (hence why I took off 1 star) is that when you flip the lights switch, after several times, it doesn't 'remember' the last setting. Flipping the switch on and off several times gets it back to where it needs to be. And using the remote (which I'm stuck next to the lights switch with some velcro) is fine. I just wish it would consistently remember what the last setting was I had the light at. If given the opportunity I'd pick up at least 3 more of these ... show more

For a small room, this is a great light. It is really bright and it fairly customizable when it comes to changing the RGB color and the white color temperature. It is also somewhat easy to install. The junction box screws were long enough for the base, but it can take a couple of tries to tighten the fixture to the base. It is also easy to set up once it is installed. You do need the included remote in order to pair it to the app, and your Wi-Fi. However, AAA batteries aren't included for the remote. The only downside is probably on me. I saw the pictures on the product page and assumed they would be correct. You cannot have both lights on at the same time. You either have the white light on, or the RGB light. I was really hoping both could be on at the same time. You also can't have multiple colors at the same time. It can flash or breathe through different colors, but it can still only be on one at a time. Regardless of all that, I'm still happy with the light. It is flush against the ceiling and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Again, for the size of the room I have it in it is pretty bright. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I needed a brighter ceiling light for our guest bedroom. I came across this one, and thought it would be fun - here's what I like: - It can be a traditional ceiling light, if you want. Just set the light temperature and intensity and use the wall switch like normal. The settings are saved. - The supplied remote control can walk you through changing settings. - The fun is using the remote to set some interesting RGB lighting settings. Very nice if a mood needs a specific color, or you just want to set a night light. - The white light can be adjusted from a soft (warm) 3000K up to a bright (cold) 6500K. - Intensity settings can also be adjusted from 10% up to 100%. - Installation is easy - the backing plate is installed first. A lanyard on the light assembly attaches to the backing plate while you make the electrical connections. Once connected, push the wiring up into the junction box and then half-turn the light onto the backing plate. Taking my time, removal of the old light and installing this one took around 30 minutes. - A phone app is available that allows the light to use Google Home or Alexa - I opted to not use it. The app does allow more flexibility to create custom modes, sync lighting to music and other features. - The supplied User Manual is actually usable! - Max power consumption is 24 watts, very reasonable. Some comments... - You'll need to supply batteries for the remote - 2x AAA. - The supplied screws that were supposed to thread into the junction box were too small. I had some spares from another project and used those instead. Also supplied are some drywall screws, but I like the junction box screws better. - A minor thing...I wish the remote came with a sheath. I'm waiting for it to grow legs and take off! If you need a new ceiling light, this kit is pretty fun. The unit is simple and clean, installation is a snap and overall, it's really flexible! ... show more

    • It's a smart light
I like the night light feature and the ability to change the white balance. I wish both the white and color lighting could be used simultaneously. Here is my complaint. To adjust brightness of the color ambient lights, it reverts to the white light, so you are blinded every time you want to adjust the brightness of the night light. How does that make sense? Once you adjust the brightness level of the white light, you can then change it back to night light and the brightness level carries through to the ambient. ... show more
