  • Comparison Andis Slimline Pro vs Wahl Sterling Mag
Style: Old Chrome Slimline Trimmer
I used the Wahl Sterling Mag for five years. It has the perfect size, weight, shape, and look. And it is cordless. It is super quiet, the battery lasts long enough, and it doesn't take long for the battery to recharge. And it doesn't really get hot. I just have two complaints. The motor isn't that strong so haircuts take some time. And sometimes my hair gets caught between the blades. I used to take the blades apart each time that it happened, but it was too often. And then I learned that if I just continue cutting my hair for 1-3 seconds, the new hair it is cutting will dislodge the hair already caught between the blades and everything would be okay again. If there was no other cordless clippers of similar size, weight, shape, and look that worked as good or better, I would give the Wahl Sterling Mag 5 stars. But since I just found better clippers, I will give it 3 stars now. The Andis Slimline Pro is pretty much the same size, weight, shape, and look as the Wahl Sterling Mag. The blade felt narrower, but it's the same exact width. Unlike the Wahl Sterling Mag, it is super loud. But that's okay. Because it cuts a lot better. It is less of a struggle to cut my hair now. Not only that, but there is less of a chance (no chance really) of getting nicks when I manscape. I think that maybe there is no chance of getting nicks because the blades are smaller and closer together or something. The Andis Slimline Pro also does not get hot. So yeah, I use this to shave my head now. I used to cut my hair every 7-14 days with the Wahl Sterling Mag and a 3mm guard. With these Andis Slimline Pro clippers, I cut my hair every five days and it seems less of a chore now. I had to use the 1.5mm guard instead though to get the same length cut at the Wahl 3mm guard. I think that the Andis Slimline Pro is kinda better in some other regards too. The outside metal plastic doesn't show fingerprints as much as the shiny Wahl Sterling Mag exterior. The stand seems better. I didn't want my Wahl stand so I threw it away. But I love the Andis stand. The light indicator to let you know that the clippers are charging or already charged is big and nice to look at it. It's a pretty green light. I paid around $80 for the Wahl five years ago, but this Andis was only $60. I'm glad that not only is it cheaper and better, but I didn't have to spend $300 like for some of the other clippers that are often recommended that are bigger and heavier, like the Oster Octane and one other one that I can't remember. I definitely recommend the Andis Slimline Pro and am giving it 5 stars. ... show more

My mom have had an electric Andis for more than 40 years it still works and shaves very good that is why I purchased the brand. The battery version will hold its charge for at least 2 weeks with use of twice weekly

  • Elevate Your Grooming Game with a Superior and Efficient Upgrade! ✂️💈🌟
Style: Old Chrome Slimline Trimmer
TLDR: Switched from Wahl Sterling Mag to Andis Slimline Pro and loving it! ✂️🌟🔁 I had been using the Wahl Sterling Mag for over three years, drawn to its perfect balance in size, weight, and aesthetics, plus the bonus of being cordless. Its quietness and the battery's longevity were key features for me, along with its quick recharge time and minimal heat generation. However, there were a couple of issues. The motor's power was somewhat lacking, leading to longer haircut sessions. Additionally, I frequently faced the problem of hair getting trapped between the blades. At first, I used to disassemble the blades to clear the hair, but then I realized that simply continuing to cut for a short while would free the stuck hair. Had I not found an alternative, I might have continued using the Wahl Sterling Mag. But after discovering the Andis Slimline Pro, my loyalty shifted. The Andis Slimline Pro shares many of the Wahl's attributes - size, weight, and design. Contrary to the Wahl, it's noticeably louder, but this is a small trade-off for its superior cutting performance. Haircuts are now quicker and smoother, and it's surprisingly effective for delicate manscaping tasks, likely due to the finely spaced blades. I used to cut my hair every two weeks with the Wahl, but with the Andis, I find myself trimming every week, and it feels less tedious. I had to switch to a slightly different guard size to achieve the same cut length. The Andis also scores points for its less fingerprint-prone exterior and a more practical stand (I never cared much for the Wahl's stand). The charging indicator is a pleasing green light, adding to its appeal. Price-wise, it's a win too - I got the Andis for a better deal than what I paid for the Wahl. In conclusion, the Andis Slimline Pro is a solid choice - it's affordable, efficient, and user-friendly. I'm happy with the upgrade and would definitely recommend it. ... show more
