I have a couple of issues with my Ford Explorer ST and wanted a more brand specific OBDII tool. This worked right out of the box on my 2015 F150, but on the Explorer I had to manually download and install the update from the Ancel website. It had multiple languages, so make sure to select the right one for your application. Before the update this wouldn't do anything more than the basic functions with OBDII on the Explorer. After the update, it has most of the Ford specific functions that I wanted. I'd give this 4.5 stars for that reason - the company should do OTA updates like some other tools that I have, or ship with the latest software. My cars aren't brand new...I'm guessing they could have shipped this with a more recent build. That said, it did the trick and I highly recommend updating the software BEFORE returning, as this tool is reasonably priced and it does work (for my two Fords anyway). ... show more

    • Surprisingly detailed and easy to use

Not a mechanic, and I’m wary of cheap tools for my car. I found this reader easy to use and gave very detailed information. I was able to verify everything on here with a mechanic friend, and he agreed that this was a good deal for a OBD reader that also give lots of diagnostic information. Caveat, the emissions, etc, readings only work for Ford vehicles, didn’t work on my Kia. However, it was able to read the OBD codes on the Kia and gave the definitions, just no emissions info. It does state all that in the description, so I didn’t expect it to work with the Kia at all, it was a pleasant surprise. Not a deal breaker though as it’s my Ford that’s been giving me issues and that’s what I bought it for. I have a 2009 Ford Focus and a 2013 Ford Fusion. All around a great price for a good OBD reader that’s not super fancy or complicated. Recommend to all non-mechanics ... show more

This is just another code reader with live data but most cheaper code reader already have this functionality, so it was a waste of money. Never connected to the Truck database or perform any function as described by seller, I read some bad reviews but I thought give it a chance maybe they don’t know how to use it but I was wrong and others reviewers were right. ... show more

    • Where's the customer support?

The scanner comes in very handy and has deemed very useful, but you will have to really take your time to figure out this unit on your own. The instructions that come with it are very basic and does not go into much detail into all of the features and functions. For example, it does not describe what the "expert mode" is or what it does when selecting that function to clear codes verses the normal code clearing function. If you try to contact customer support, you can only do so through email and their response time is about 48 hours. In my case, the customer support team was not helpful at all in answering my questions. They actually had told me that they can not recommend a product for my engine while having the exact product for my particular engine which made the customer support seem really uneducated on their own scanners. In summary, it is a great tool that has been very helpful, but you will need to spend time learning how to use all of the functions on your own. ... show more

Had the scanner for a bit over a month and works great so far. We primarily work on reach forklifts and other medium duty construction equipment and the scanners on the tool trucks do not offer much support or are very expensive. We decided to try this scanner and have had luck reading the industrial cummins engines as well as hooking into our own service trucks that are classed as 'medium duty' and traditional scanners often don't work on. ... show more

LOVE THIS PRODUCT! It allows me to diagnose my 2015 KW T680 paccar. Shows all the fault codes and even live data on almost all components. The best part is it will force a regen on a paccar engine, which sold the deal for me. Clears all codes and is easy to use and understand. You must connect to the internet to activate it and update software and you have to be plugged into a vehicle(doesn’t have to be truck) to power it on, but it’s all worth it imo. This diagnostic tablet is just that a diagnostic tablet. With a Detroit DD15 engine it DOES NOT support DPF regenerations. The only thing it can be used for on a Detroit engine is for gauge monitoring that is very small and difficult to read the information, and it can clear some trouble codes. On a Cummins X15 it does support the DPF regeneration feature, but it IS NOT A BIDIRECTIONAL SCAN TOOL! You cannot change engine parameters with the Ancel HD3400, but it is useful for owner operators that can save thousands by being able to diagnose their own truck and clear codes after making repairs. I recommend buying this for that reason, but the description is misleading. The Wi-Fi updates are also a great feature to have as well. ... show more

    • Wow. It truly accesses the Ford modules

I’m impressed. When it’s plugged in, you see 6 choices on the main screen. If you have a Ford, hit the Ford button. The others are to scan non Ford vehicles for the generic codes. If you have a Ford, this identifies the vehicle right away. It will scan each module (naming each as it goes). Even the power seat modules. You won’t get that with a scanner made for all OBD II ports to get very broad codes that typically don’t help with finding the actual problem. This actually found a stored fault from when one of my rear signal bulbs had gone out. It was also dated when the bulb was replaced. My reason for it was to diagnose a power seat heater issue. It gives you Ford specific codes and also instantly reads the definition. No more googling. Great product. Can also reset the battery control module when a battery is replaced. Highly recommended while this is still somehow available. Gets you dealer type scans. ... show more
