The device paired immediately and the app was very easy to use. What's cool is that you can directly link each code finding to the internet by tapping it and find a ton of information, something the hand held devices can't do.

Relatively easy to set up, reads codes ok, liked the blue tooth connectivity. Of course you still have to learn a lot about codes and solutions. Im still a beginner so I cant really give a totally informed opinion. Hope it helps me diagnose some codes.

    • Ancel BD300 dongle for BMW
I have a 2014 BMW X1 xdrive28i. The local BMW dealership quoted me almost $500 for a battery and to register it. I got on YouTube and watched a video of a battery register on a BMW with this device. I was very very skeptical. I went ahead and bought this device. I purchased a battery from Autozone. Went home installed the battery after watching a YouTube video on that part too. I installed the Ancel app on my Samsung Galzy 22 Ultra and I plugged the dongle into my OBD port. The app instantly recognized the device. I tried to register the battery on the first attempt. IT said not supported. I tried again. It said the same thing. I did not have my key fob in my car and the car wasn't on. After I put the key in the car and attempted again. It worked perfectly. The app walks you thru the entire process and it took less than one minute to complete. I had heard horror stories about registering a BMW vehicle battery without using the dealership. Things from the car not starting at, wiper blades turning on and not stopping. The radio being locked out and not working. Windows not working. I was SCARED to say the least. After the registration process. I paused for a while and bit the bullet and pushed the start button. The car started. Nothing funny happened. I turned on the wipers they worked. Headlights worked, radio worked, windows worked. Car went into reverse, drive and park. The only other thing I had to do was reset the clock. I am very very happy I made this purchase and gave Ancel a chance. This is gonna save me a ton of money in the future. ... show more

    • Worked for battery registration!
We have a 2016 BMW X3 28i for which I switched out the battery. I was only able to accomplish that by watching YouTube videos. Changing the battery requires registration of battery. This small OBD-2 code reader was able to accomplish battery registration after a few tries. Now I have an OBD-2 scanner for the car for future issues. I am satisfied. ... show more

    • Non-Existen Customer Service and **DOES NOT REGISTER ALL BATTERIES**
I have to replace my BMW 328i battery.. I looked at several similar Bluetooth OBDII dongles and apps.. I tried to send a question on their webpage but it wouldn't accept it (Try again later).. I wanted to know why from watching the video why the App doesn't ask the same questions that other Apps do: Cold Cranking Amps, Standby Power, etc.. I searched and could find no answer so ordered the dongle and app. My dongle's light does not work, but I managed to connect it anyway. I sent a request via the app 3 days ago.. Still no answer... THEN I FOUND an obscure note.. "THIS UNIT WILL ONLY WORK ON EXACT REPLACEMENT BATTERIES" .. You cannot change from an AGM to Wet Cell battery or change the Cold Cranking Amps etc.. A Regular battery is $100.. The AGM battery is $250.. You might want to go a cheaper battery if your car is reaching the end of its life.. YOU CANNOT WITH THIS UNIT! ... show more

Needed to clear the airbag lights on my 2003 BMW 540i. I had another cheapo Bluetooth unit that wouldn't clear the code. This one does. It's a bit expensive for my needs but it was cheaper than going to the dealer.
