Make sure you tape it where you want it, once you regret the position and take it off it won't restick, also is very sensitive and was turning on with any slight movement, but I pushed it further back on my closet and that seemed to help ! We've had a stick-on LED light in a low, deep cabinet for quite a while, the kind with a push-button switch. And, for quite a while, I've seen it still on in the morning, gradually dimming. Burning through batteries isn't the worst thing in the world, so I bite my tongue. This little gadget will keep my tongue from getting bitten. The motion-sensing activation is nice, but not what I got it for. I wanted the stillness-sensing deactivation. There's probably some infinitesimal battery drain to keep the motion sensor running between times. Even so, I expect the batteries to last a lot longer. Marital harmony is worth a whole lot more than this costs, even if I end up using only one of the three in this package. -- wiredweird Update: Downgrade to four stars. The motion sensor isn't very sensitive - I'll try customizations suggested in other reviews. Also, the mounting isn't working all that well. It's magnetic instead of mechanical (grabs, but doesn't lock in place), and way too easy to bump off the wall in a tight cabinet. I haven't had it long enough to corroborate the battery-drain assertions, but could be. Even so, drain from the always-on sensors vs drain from it left on overnight still seems favorable. ... show more

Great little lights! Certainly good for the price. The installation options - magnet, or 3M adhesives - make them very flexible. I use these in an older home where my ceiling fans are on a single switch - I like leaving the fans on with lights off when not in the room, so these lights provide the necessary lighting when just passing through one of the dark rooms or when you need to enter and find the pull chain to turn on the main lights.I have one of these mounted to the ceiling fan housing - the fan blades do not activate the light's motion sensor. Another is used in an entry room which is normally dark - light works great for the short time needed to make the entry safe. As a special note, the light sensor can be neutralized so these lights can be used together to provide interior lighting for a gun safe if you don't have the option of an electrical outlet in your safe. Thankfully, a few other reviewers mentioned canceling the light sensors - one wrote about cutting wires, another wrote about using black tape to cover the internal sensor. I wouldn't cut any wires. I recommend using black, electrical tape to fully cover the small sensor. You will need to open the back, as if doing so to install the batteries. At this point, you will see three small screws; remove the screws to access the circuit board with the sensors. The motion sensor is the large dome in the center; off to the side of the dome, you will see a small clear, square component - this is the light sensor. You will need to cover it completely - I suggest two small pieces of the tape, applied to make a + over the sensor and sticking to the circuit board on all four sides of the sensor. Once the tape is secured, replace the cover without replacing the screws; install the batteries to test it. The light will come on when the third battery is installed. Allow the light to go out. Have the unit in a lighted area, then make a motion near the unit. If the light activates, you are good to go. If not, check to make sure you have covered the light sensor. Once it is verified to work in a lighted area, complete the replacement of the cover with the screws. Now you are ready to install the lights in your safe, or other cabinet. If you have a large safe with an electrical outlet, I recommend you purchase a Torchlight LED lighting system. They are available via Amazon and work fantastic! ... show more

I had others that you had to switch on and off, which we often forgot to turn off. These lights solved that problem. Easy mount, some rougher surfaces may require a little extra double face tape, but not a problem. You intall the metal mounting plate first, then the actual light sticks on the mounting plate magnetically. Just make sure you mount it in a position that the motion sensore will easily detect movement of, as an example, when you open a cabinet door. Eventual battery replacemnt easy, just remove it from the metal mount, easily replace the three batteries, restick it magneticalyy back on the mount. ... show more
