So far it's working well. Mine did arrive same day which was convenient. I did get the Tri-Wing screwdriver which was the only additional tool I needed to get the job done - nice touch there. It's tough to remove the rubber feet and vanity stickers without messing them up - wish it came with a few of those. Mine was missing one out of the necessary four rubber grommets - thankfully the old drive has a full set so it was easy enough to swap one over and a non issue. Symptoms: My wii was able to read some games but at least 50% of all Wii and GameCube games would give disc read error. There were some audible clicking noises as well. I tried cleaning the laser but no improvement - so I replaced the drive with this one - and were back in business! Yay! ... show more

I was a little nervous about people saying there is 500 screws to remove but it wasn't too bad and installation was pretty straight forward. I would recommend.

I would’ve given 5 stars but I didn’t get the screw driver that is said to come with it I had to buy a whole one separately but as for the main part here it worked fantastic! I took my Wii apart to replace the disc drive and fix my disc read error and after putting it in which only took about 30 minutes start to finish my Wii is back to its great old self and I’ve got my animal crossing town back! So definitely greatful for that :) ... show more

    • Wrong Drive for my WII U
I had to disassemble my WII U to find the right drive. ;) RD-DKL034-ND, Also located that number in a strip down video of my WII U which was a new model than the many videos out there. The correct drive did not require me stripping the drive case off to replace. My Wii U model was WUP-101(02). This drive wasn't even a close match. ;(. Better research on my part probably could have avoided. Or a better web page disclaimer "Will not work for this model of WII U". ... show more
