I had to let mine sit for about 3 months before I could smell anything when I put it on. It literally smelled like absolutely nothing the first several times I tried to used it, but I've read with some oils you have to let them sit and macerate before using them. So if it smells like nothing when you first get it, LEAVE IT ALONE FOR A COUPLE MONTHS. Now onto the scent! Absolutely divine. It's a clean, slightly sweet, floral skin scent that's just delicious and gets better and better as your skin warms it up. It's the kind of addictive scent you'll get random whiffs of and wonder what is that amazing smell, then realize it's you. 2021 EDIT: I’ve recently purchased this product online from Amazon and two, in person, at Whole Foods. All three bottles of Amber Oil smell diluted and has a strange, overpowering waxy smell. The feel of the oil is somehow thicker than before as well, I’m not sure if they changed the formula, but as a daily user of this product for 7-8 years, something is NOT right. It’s not exclusively an Amazon problem, but an overall problem with the product formula itself. I sincerely hope they fix this issue and return to the original formula that I have loved for nearly a decade. Original Review: THIS is MY secret signature scent for over 7 years. If you want that head-turning, mind-boggling, scent-that-stays-on-his-and-her-mind, this is it. A little goes a LONG way, which makes this roll-on version prime. It also complements your individual essence, so it doesn’t smell exactly the same on everyone (ie. it smells better on some than others). Extremely disappointed in this new formula. I’ve been using Amber oil for years and loved how the smallest amount went such a long way. And how long the scent would last! This new formula smells like nothing. Now matter how much you put on not even the slightest scent. I thought maybe it was just a bad batch but looking at the reviews looks like everyone is having this issue. What a shame. ... show more

I read the reviews and did not have high hopes. When I received the package sooner than expected I was excited. When I saw how much bigger this rollon is than the bottle at Whole Foods I was pretty giddy. Now, again, from reviews I had some preconceived notions about this oil. I knew I needed to take off the top and let it sit in the sunlight. (Inside, in the bedroom window.) After an hour, the oil had hardly any scent, but I was glad it was familiar to me; it was what I remembered and wanted. After a few hours, the oil seemed really strong, but barely lasted on my skin. For the next few days, (and I've kept the top off) it seemed hit and miss with having a strong scent/having NO scent/strong scent/mild scent/no scent. Around two weeks later, it is even stronger and lasts overnight if, say, I were to rub the oil on around 11pm, I can still smell it the next day. If it was this way when I'd purchased it, five stars. But because I have had to wait so long to use it, (I even went and bought the similar scent, Kumba Persian Garden, so that I could exercise some patience) I want to say 3.9/4.. it also seems like the roller goes really fast. I havent used much and it is halfway full/half empty. Hmm. Will purchase, again, but will now at least know it wont be "ready" for two weeks. ... show more

    • Subtle scent
I originally bought this because I tried an oil from an expensive brand. I saw someone mention it's the same exact fragrance as Nemat Amber, not to mention $30 cheaper! If it had a body lotion and hair mist, I'd keep them in business indefinitely.
