I freely admit I am a man of unrefined tastes, my friends and family drink fancy red wines always swirling it about before going on about traces of chocolate and with a hint of pears or some other such rubbish. I’ve had $5 jug wine & a $100.00+ bottled wine and they all taste the same to me! Moldy le
aves...the more expensive taste like cleaner moldy leaves… So when I saw this trend in coffee I was surprised, I tried 6 or 7 different types of Dark roast coffee before finding this one. I started out paying $25-30 for two lbs of whole beans, Most of these brands marketed their coffee with fancy names Koffee Kult Dark Roast, which is supposed to be “Craft Roasted Gourmet Coffee” not saying it isn’t but it didn’t seem much different than Folgers to me. Next was Don Pablo Gourmet Coffee which was inexpensive but was to me anyway very bitter. Equal Exchange Organic Whole Bean Coffee, French Roast was next and was very expensive plus I think some of the marketeers from the red wine gang went to work for them since it was claimed this coffee had Chocolaty Richness and a Subtle Smoky Flavor ...hmm...I drank two lbs worth and can say that I’m pretty familiar with smoky flavors commonly present in BBQ pork, there was none of that here plus I’ve already commented on the chocolaty part in my review of red wine. Then only one I tried before that was good was San Francisco Bay Coffee French Roast, this about 25% more expensive but for me it was pretty close to what I was looking for. I will be upfront and admit I have never been to a Starbucks & the only thing I order at Dunkin Donuts is well...donuts. I stopped drinking grocery store coffee brands after reading about the various fillers in the pre-ground brands (Chicory etc.). I will also admit that the only reason I drink coffee at all is because of the caffeine, coffee without caffeine is just brown colored water, sort of like unsweetened tea. I have brewed about 6lbs of this brand so far, it isn’t bitter or oily, there is no chocolate, or hints of smoky pears just plain ole dark roast coffee. Which is exactly what I have been looking for! So if your tastes are also unrefined I think you will be pretty happy with this brand.

I had been ordering the 8 O'clock brand but the price started to get too expensive. So, I switched to the Amazon Columbian blend which I did enjoy. I thought I would try something different this time and went for this donut shop blend. Wow, I really am enjoying this coffee. It has a wonderful full-bo
died taste but is very mellow. I know there are some great coffees on this site, but for the money, this is a real bargain.

Good, Robust, Coffee At An Affordable Price
Flavor Name: The Bold, Dark Roast
Size: 32 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I enjoy a good cup of french press coffee on the weekends. I have purchased several different well known brands of coffee beans from Amazon when they are on sale. I decided to try this out and was pleasantly surprised. The dark roast blend produced a nice, robust cup with good flavor. Some of the mor
e expensive brands have more body with hints of flavors exclusive to their type of bean. That said, these beans make a quality, fresh, robust cup of coffee.

I am a bit of a coffee snob, I have an espresso machine, 2 grinders and various brew method items. Cold brew however is one of my favorite ways to have coffee. I bought these beans for that, because cold brew coffee has a lot of leeway in terms of what beans you use, it is very forgiving. These beans
are very bitter, I do not suggest making cold brew with these beans only, I suggest buying a lighter roast and mixing the beans with this to get a better balance. They are very oily likely because they were over roasted and are burnt.

Great Coffee but NOTE: This is for 2 12 ounce packages, not one
Flavor Name: The Bold, Dark Roast
Size: 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Really great coffee. Recommend. The Decaf is good too. The title is misleading. This is for Qty 2 12-ounce packages, not just one. The price was double that of the decaf and I thought that odd but when it shipped, a quantity of 2 Regular Coffee 12 ounce packages were delivered.

I had been drinking 8 o'clock coffee, which became unavailable. This coffee is much more flavorful and not bitter. It's a good value, and I'd buy it again. It's supposed to be a medium roast coffee, but the dark, shiny beans indicate it's really a dark roast.

Value in Whole Coffee Beans
Flavor Name: Colombia, Medium Roast
Size: 32 Ounce (Pack of 1)
With freight it was getting too expensive to order a lot of beans from my usual source. Found this to replace part of my mail orders. I'm not super critical about my coffee, so this works for me as a supplement to my mail source to help reduce costs.

This is a good everyday coffee. Good price and tastes good. I don't like that the actual roast date is unknown. You can get better coffee but not at this price.
