  • Excellent tasting coffee
$18 of a gourmet coffee for daily use was getting way too expensive so after trying many brands I'm glad I finally found this Amazon donut shop coffee! I was surprised at how smooth it was. It was smooth and tasty, not bitter with a solid coffee flavor. I got a $10 milling blade attatchment for my nutribullet to be able to grind coffee beans without having to buy a grinder and it works great. I thought I may have ground my first batch too fine for drip brew but after trying it I wasn't disappointed. The coffee was excellent. If you're looking for a no frills, delicious and economical coffee to drip brew give it ago. I was skeptical at first but am glad I went with my gut and tried it. I've only tried the whole bean thus far but I assume ground will be just as good, just a tad less "fresh" or aromatic. ... show more

  • Very surprised!!
I’m a coffee snob! Bought this on a whim one night when I realized I was out (and because they said… order now and receive by morning). It’s a good cup. I liked a lighter roast, but not as many floral/fruity notes (yes too more caramel notes). This is a great valued Columbian coffee, low acidity, smooth and yet full of flavor. I’ve bought the 12 oz three packs several times since (to keep them air tight in smaller packs) and would recommend you try them for yourself. I did not care for the Amazon dark roast (but i don’t care for most dark roasts so no surprise). I just ordered a Columbian decaf as well and have high expectations! ... show more

  • Freshness is Not Consistent
First, let me st the stage by saying I love strong coffee, especially a GOOD dark roast. But I absolutely HATE that burnt-dirt tasting crap that the Stargarbage folks sell. So if you actually like their coffee, you probably don't want to read my review - my tastes ain't for you. Now the good news is that this dark roast coffee is really quite good - it does not taste like burnt dirt at all. But the bad news is that the consistency is not too good. The first bag was decent, but the beans were a bit dry and had no oily sheen on them at all. The flavor was decent, but not great. Now the second bag is totally different. These beans are very dark and oily, and the taste is really good. On a possibly related note, the bags were very easy to pull open, leading me to believe that the seal may not have been very good. So I will try at least one more order of this good coffee, but I cannot fully recommend it due to the variations I have seen. ... show more

  • Good flavor, fantastic aroma.
I was noticing that the smell and flavor on my ground coffee was not the same so I decided to try the whole beans and I’m very glad I did. I brought a little grinder and grind the beans before brewing and it is a close as it gets to my mama’s coffee. The price is right for the amount you get compared to other brands. ... show more

  • Horrible Delivery Experience! About 80% of the time now!
Great Coffee, but when will Amazon delivery drivers read instructions and street address?? Buy this delicious coffee, bold taste for almost a year now; LOVE IT! However, delivery quality by Amazon drivers have gotten horrible! Updated specific instructions and still we get our neighbors and they get ours. Granted, we are in a “1/2” address (yes, we exist Amazon!!). I politely spoke with several drivers but they are all new every time or simply do no care about quality and customer experience anymore, like most others out there!! They still have the nerve to take a picture of wrong door and address!😞😞 ... show more

  • Pretty smooth, great value
I'm what I would call a "beginner coffee aficionado." So not terribly experienced with coffees but experienced enough that I can comment on what I like and don't like. My favorite coffee so far has been kona coffee. Incredibly smooth, you almost forget you're drinking coffee, it's almost tea in its smoothness. But it's expensive stuff (for good reason). Worst coffee was McDonald's. McCafe is "bleck" - just a mouth full of bitter. So if Kona is a 5 stars and McCafe is a 0.5, this Nicaraguan coffee is about a 4.7. It's not nearly as bitter as other coffees I've had. I found I didn't need cream or sugar. It does have a slightly sharp taste to it but I wouldn't call it bitter. For the price, I would say this Nicaragua coffee is definitely worth getting again, it's great value. ... show more

  • Good coffee, super price.
We've experimented with several coffees in the past year or so. This AmazonFresh Dark Roast Whole Bean Coffee, 32 Ounce is good, but seems to leave a little to be desired. That after-taste that lingers seems to be absent. It is perhaps a little less chocolatey than my favorite brands. Otherwise, this is a pretty good coffee. The price beats anything I've found, making me appreciate it even more. I don't think this can become my daily coffee, but I can recommend it anyway. People on a tight budget will especially like this coffee. ... show more
