I bought a few similar jackets from different manufacturers and the plan was to keep the one that fit the best. This one came in second place, and I had to return it because another one fit me a little better. I ordered the small, and I am 5'6" tall and 150 lbs with short limbs and a wide frame. Nothing fits me well, so I usually have to settle for something that is close but not perfect. This jacket fit perfectly, but the sleeves and overall length were just a little bit longer than a competitor. I honestly would have kept this jacket if I had not tried the competitor's, because the extra length was negligible and comfortable. Generally speaking, this jacket style runs a little long in the sleeves for people like me with short arms. Then, if you buy a size extra-small (usually not available), it's too tight or too short in the overall length. This is a nice, well-constructed, lightweight jacket that feels warm. It's much lighter than a parka but it seems like it will work for cold and wet weather around 40-45 F. The hood also fits well without a hat and it seems like a very functional go-to jacket for cold rainy weather. The wrist elastic could be a little tighter in my opinion, but it's basically snug around the wrist. You can probably put a few stitches in the material and make it tighter with some clever sewing. ... show more

I purchased this for my husband prior to a trip to Portland, OR, where I knew we would likely have rain a couple of the days of our trip. I knew he wouldn't need warmth as much as he would need rain, and maybe wind protection. He absolutely LOVES this jacket, and said so many times over the course of our trip! Not only did it fit well, but it traveled beautifully ... taking up almost no space, since it compresses well, and looking great when unpacking it. And he LOVED all the pockets, including those inside the jacket. It was also great for wearing at the airport and on the plane since it's often quite chilly on the flight. Paid $35 for the olive green jacket. Loved it so much I ended up getting other colors which were on sale for $23. (Funny how some colors go on sale and others don’t. Olive green was my favorite but never went on sale). I purchased these jackets to use on a trip where the weather was supposed to be in the 40-50F range and I must admit it exceeded all my expectations. I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars at REI for a jacket so I decided to try these out and boy was I happy I did. They fit well. Arm length was perfect and height wise it ends right at my hips. Kept me nice and warm. Material was soft. It’s not down but polyester. I didn’t mind as the price was right and it was warm enough for me and comfortable. I love that you can pack these in those small travel bags to save space. Overall I highly recommend these coats. I know what I am getting my family for Christmas this year! I ended up purchasing 4 jackets on total bc of how much I loved the quality and fit for the price. Colors I got: olive green, navy blue, orange, yellow. This looks very similar to my down jacket that cost about five times more. It packs down fairly small and unlike down it can be packed into it's stuff sack and left for long periods of time. The fabric makes water bead and the synthetic fill should be alright in wet conditions. It doesn't pack down as small as down and probably is not quite as warm. I bought this to test out the style of jacket for my kid. This is a cheaper version of the North face and Patagonia jackets. Are micro puffy jackets worth it? I work outside and for the past week below 50 degrees with 20 mph winds. IT WORKS at blocking the wind and keeping my dry and warm. Additionally, it's an excellent layer under a rain jacket.
