I'm glad I didn't send these directly to the recipients. I bought 11 and had to open each carrier and actually put the gift card into the intended slot. Each card was just sitting in the back of the slider so when you opened it, it looked like nothing was there. Many of them were torn in the back. These are obviously gifts. my worst amazon experience ever. I bought this for my friend for Christmas, online directly with amazon. She attempted to add to her account in January and couldn't. she emailed and called amazon, no results for months.     • None of the gift cards worked
I have been doing shopping with Amazon for almost 4 years but this has been the worst experience till now. Last year I ordered 5 Amazon gift cards each of $15. The order was not received on the due date. So I called at customer care and they resent the order. Later on I received total 10 gift cards among which the first order reached a bit late as per my understanding. When I called customer care again, they told I can use all the 10 cards although I paid for 5 only. I gifted 2 gift cards to 2 of my friends last year. This year I myself tried to use one gift card for my account while buying something when I found it says the card has already been used!! I became doubtful and tried other cards one by one and each of them showed the gift card is already used!! Then I called my friends whom I gifted and they told that they also have not been able to use the cards but they could not tell me out of hesitation. I felt truly embarrassed and called customer care, provided all the card numbers and the customer care lady told these will be activated within 7 days. After one week, I received an email from customer service (forwarded below) which indicates the cards are ready to be used. So I gifted one of the gift cards few weeks back to another friend and guess what - it again says card is already used!! This time she called me since I asked her to inform me if she faces any difficulty to use the card. This is utter disappointment from Amazon service. I really don't know if these cards could be used at all. I have tolerated enough embarrassment and now I don't want to try once again. ... show more

Perfect for Xmas gift. Red is very glittery and perfect for Valentine or Xmas gift or for someone who loves red things that glitter. This is not a gift box but a gift card insert that looks like a box.

Requested $200 VISA gift card. First card that said $200, I clicked on & ordered. Just received $200 Amazon gift card. The list started with low amount of Visa cards then showed $200 gift card. Since I am homebound after surgery I didn’t notice Amazon. So basically now I have spend $200. Only on Amazon products. No returns. No gift card to anyone as a gift. Really stinks ... show more

    • A Complicated Gift
Based on reviews, I decided to check the gift card balance prior to giving it as a gift. As with other Amazon customers, I received a gift card with no balance. I scanned the gift card and entered the claim code, no funds are available. I contacted customer service and was told that the card has not been claimed to an account and that's why the balance isn't showing. Since this is a gift; I have to tell the recipient to select "manage payment" under their amazon account, scan or key in the claim code, then click submit to add the gift card to their amazon payment options. This is too much for a gift card. I thought that it would be simple to give this as a gift, but I didn't know that I would have to obtain and provide instructions in effort to use a gift card! ... show more

Should be marked on the outside what the card is worth. When you buy more than one it is difficult to tell which one is of what value.
