Light weight with athletic material, the padding helps give some extra protection, especially for the heart, but even the lower back which comes handy for one of my boys who usually gets hit by the ball a lot. It helps my boys be a little less scared of the ball hitting them and helps them with sliding and not hurting their chest. Worth the money! The original ones we go the side padding pieces came apart and were clumped together so they sent us replacement ones. So far they are good, I’d recommend staying away from the dryer and just hang drying to be safe. Other than than we love them! ... show more

Initially the shirt was great. One of the four sections of padding, left ribs is falling apart. All the padding has crumbled and become loose inside the shirt making it too uncomfortable to wear. Not usable
