So I have actually been using these razors for years and I personally love them, they are not super expensive and I really like the 5 blade razor compared to 3 blade razors. Some things that I have noticed and also saw people had issues with in the reviews, to start the packaging, they actually just started using new packaging for the razor heads that are alot easier to open so you don't cut yourself. The old packaging had to plastic pieces that clicked together that were a little tougher to open but the new package it sits in a little cup and you just peel the paper to open it. Second the razor handle, this razor is compared to venus razors this does not mean it is going to fit your venus razor handles, amazon basics makes another razor set that is pink that says will fit venus razor blades if you want it to fit venus blades I would buy the pink one. I also personally buy a new 12 pack with a new handle whenever I run out if my twelve refills because being in a humid environment like the shower it is more prone to rust and it is recommended to replace the handles. Third the blade refills themselves, I really like them and have not had any issues with them being gummy or flaking but I also rinse my blade when I am done using it to get any hair out so it is clean when I hang it up to dry. It is also not recommended to cover your razor when wet or the cover will stick to the blade and it will waste your refill blade. You can cover your razor once it is dry to prevent it from sticking but if you keep your razor in the shower but do not use it every time you shower the humidity will also make the cover stick so I recommend not keeping it in the shower or keeping it uncovered. The fourth thing, the little hanger it comes with has personally never worked for me but it is very hard to keep anything that suction cups to the wall to stay in a humid environment like a shower. I personally have a corner insert with shelves for my shampoo, conditioner, ect that is removable, the shelves are wire shelves so I bought little hangers that you can hang from the shelves and just put my razor on that instead of using the hanger it comes with. I purchased the Amazon Basics 5-Blade Razor for Women, Handle, 12 Cartridges & Shower Hanger. I have extremely sensitive skin and have other skin issues, so I wanted to find something that didn’t irritate my legs or cause razor burn. I love that it is hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested. It came with a cute suction holder to hang inside the shower. I like the lubricating strip to help reduce skin irritation. After toweling off, my legs feel so silky smooth, almost as if I had already moisturized them. I couldn’t believe the 12 count cartridges and razor bundle only cost me $19.77. This is a great price point when compared against the big name brands like Gillette Venus, Schick Quattro and BIC. Basically, with them the only thing you’re paying for is the name. I really enjoyed these razors. I have VERY dry skin and it has that built-in-lubricant which helps the shave be smooth. I would recommend this razor. And it also works with Billy razors.

I like these razors, they do their job well. But I have to dock 1 star because the moisturizing strip gets SO goopy if I set the razor down in a wet environment, even for just a couple of minutes. It's gets slimy. It's generally not an issue since I hang my razor upright on my shower wall (e.g. the moisturizer strip isn't touching anything), but it still feels gross when it happens. There are so many replaceable blades that come in this packaging it’s insane. For this price, Venus or even generic brands could not compare. The lubricant on the razors is a plus too. They last me a couple of weeks and are comfortable to hold, easy to replace.

I was in the market for a new Razor, since the brand I have been using has discontinued the one I used, and came across these. I liked that it was blue, everyone else in the house has black, and had a large razor head & shield. I thought it would be easier for me to handle in the shower without my glasses. Well, I was very wrong. I got in the shower today and attempted to remove the razor shield, and it would not come off. By now I am well drenched and so is the razor. The gel is so slippery I begin to fumble with it and now the razor head pops off. The gel is now all over my hands, making it near impossible to place the head back on, never mind trying to remove the stubborn shield. Without my glasses I can not see what I am doing, way is up, or in! I ended up having to step out of the shower to find a replacement for the time being. I swear, to an audience this would have been comedy gold. But to me, the user, it was infuriating and a tad nerve wracking. I really did not want to cut myself before being able to shave. So, judging the single time I got to use it prior to today … •Does it shave well? -Yes. •Does the gel activate and make things silky smooth? -Yes, too much so. •Would I recommend it? -Only to someone who doesn’t need glasses, OR someone who does not replace the razor shield after every use. ... show more
