I bought this umbrella twice and both times it was packed insufficiently (shipped in just an envelope, no cushioning). It made it to my address in one piece tough. The umbrella works, it is ok but the smell of the material was terrible! It smelled like fish and nothing that I used to change the smell, worked. Now, over time, it has gotten better but the smell is still faintly there. I hope this was the exception but I thought I should mention it. Apart from that the sturdiness seems ok and is as expected in regard to what one can expect from products not made to really last, nowadays. I have not had an umbrella of this price that I would consider truly sturdy but this one seems a bit better than a lot I have had in past years. I also have not seen a seemingly sturdier umbrella for a higher price that I would have considered. So, my verdict is: it is ok, it looks great but it smells bad ;) ... show more

I know it's silly, but as a child I had an Easter umbrella that was red with white polka dots. I loved it, it wasn't pastel like all the others. I saw this and thought "how fun". I purchased it without reading. When it came, it's not red. It's more of a burgundy, and the dots are larger than they appear in the photo. Upon reading the description I noticed that the color is called magenta. OK. But the picture is RED. I'm unreasonably disappointed. Still the fault was my own, so I'll keep it as a trunk umbrella. You know... an umbrella that you keep in the trunk, never use, but have just in case... sigh.. ... show more

I bought this as an upgrade from a children’s umbrella for my kindergarten. He uses it a lot at the bus stop. Unfortunately it’s very difficult to close, so he almost always needs help.

I bought this for my daughter who is more interested in how her umbrella looks than anything else. :) I 'seems' like it's well made...but as I bought it for a kid, I don't expect it to end up lasting all that long. Nevertheless, it's got a heft feel, the clouds print on the interior looks nice, and it folds up small enough that she can toss it in her school backpack. And it was cheap enough that when she inevitably breaks it, I'm not all that upset. ... show more
