  • Wow, Amazon Basics FTW!
Size: Queen(79"L x 59.5"W) Style: 9-Inch Height
I’m really coming to appreciate the Amazon Basics brand, and this “box spring” (should be called a “platform”, but the industry is sticking with this) is another great example of why. Well priced compared to competing products and arrived on time and in good shape. Very light materials that also felt quite sturdy (yay material science!) and high quality. Simple instructions and easy to set up, even by one person. Final result looks good and feels solid so far. Fits a queen mattress perfectly and fits within a standard metal frame snugly. Can’t really ask for more. Some tips for assembling solo: 1) If you have a frame, sit the middle hinges of the first part on the frame so you can do the rest elevated. 2) When doing step 2 and putting the end brackets on, grab the hand bolts from step 3 and put them in loosely to hold each corner in place as you do the rest of them. Then just tighten them in step 3. 3) Step 4 was a little tricky so align both ends carefully before pushing either one into place. 4) When putting in the horizontal slats on step 5) do the same as in step 4, align both ends before pushing either one fully down. 6) I found the hardest solo part to be the cover in step 7. Standing the frame on its side with the zipper start/end of the cover on the top made it easier for me to get it on without help. Probably a bit easier with 2 people, but I hope these tips help if you want or need to do it solo! ... show more

  • Not Bad but is still metal slates covered with cloth.
Size: Full(74"L x 53"W) Style: 5-Inch Height
Came in Quick, Easy Assembly, Fiber cloth a little tight but fits okay. Size was perfect for the double mattress exact same size (Like a set). Feels very Sturdy no movement or noise. So for the price it is worth what you pay for.

  • Almost Five Stars
Size: Queen(79"L x 59.5"W) Style: 7-Inch Height
Looks sturdy and assembly is really easy and simplistic. Would've given it five stars if not for the fact that the box looked like it was someone's return, we were missing a horizontal slat, and one of the side bars was bent (that I maneuvered into place with a hammer). Still, it's more affordable than most other box springs and I have no concerns over its durability and longevity. ... show more

  • Won’t fit a traditional (antique) metal framed bed
Size: Full(74"L x 53"W) Style: 5-Inch Height
❗️PLEASE NOTE❗️If you have an antique metal bed frame such as the one this box spring was purchased for, the box spring will not sit in the grooves of a traditional metal framed bed. This did not cause any issues for us as we were able to modify the bed frame so that the box spring could sit on top of the bed rails. This isn’t in any way a complaint, just wanted to ensure that if you have a traditional bed frame this box spring won’t fit as expected. The box spring was extremely easy to assemble and is quite sturdy. Very happy with this purchase ... show more

I am very satisfied with this box spring. The directions were easy to follow and it took less than 30 minutes to set up. I love that I don’t need any tools to set up. I like that the cover encloses the box spring. It is sturdy and quiet. I recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an affordable, high quality box spring. I purchased the 5in. • Failed completely at 4 months. weak metal, small poor spot welds.
Size: Queen(79"L x 59.5"W) Style: 7-Inch Height
2 small girls share this bed,. 1 is 120 lbs, the other is 100lbs. We purchased a new mattress and this box support 4 months ago for the existing queen frame in their room. we also were replacing the traditional spring mattress with a hybrid so we changed support style to steel slat box to give firmer coverage to the mattress design as recommended by the mattress mfr. If you look at the 3rd photo in the ad, where the steel frame is being assembled by a hand inserting 1 of the rods, you can catch an inward curve of the side of the outer rails both upper and lower edge. This true on mine as well and ended up becoming the 1st issue. the corners measured fine and went to the proper measurement for our queen base, and sit perfectly square on the bed frame, but the middle on 1 side rolls inward, narrowest was a full centimeter narrower than the corners. This got worse over time and eventually let the box slip off the frame when it began to flex the 2nd or 3rd month we had it in use (after the 30 day return had ended). I eventually remeasured, and yes it had lost several more millimeters from flexing. So I ended up bending the frame of the bed on the side to give additional support. That helped for a couple of months. yesterday, 1 corner of the bed dropped 4 inches or so from the corner to the middle of the bed, the other 3 stayed at height. one of the girls was sitting on that corner putting on her boots and it just suddenly DROPPED she said. I flipped up the mattress and removed the box cover. The upper and lower rails of the frame are pre-made with support ribs every foot or so to give it strength and maintain rigidity. 3 of the bars on the collapsed corner had broken their spot welds, and the cause of this was the premade corner joint metal had flexed and broken and you can see the weld was poor so the corner was weak and eventually gave way. This is not due to excess weight, or kids playing bounce games on the bed. It was used by 2 slender teenage sisters with a total weight of 220 lbs, the frame is rated at over 600. The only reason this happened is the welds could not withstand the on and off application of weight and flexed till they broke. since the corner holds the angle and shape integrity, once it broke the supports ribs then had to absorb the now moving rail spacing and eventually their welds cracked. Steel that is rated over 600lbs needs to be durable enough to hold 220 lbs forever, not measured to not collapse with 600 for 10 seconds and then claim "Hold 600 lbs!". Less than 225 lbs over 4 months bent it more which should not happen even if it started slightly curved, it bent more over time because the weak metal flexed stressing the weld joints till they physically cracked likely 1 at a time. It simply isnt a sturdy or high quality piece. It was curved when it arrived. I addressed that by making the frame cirve to make sure it didnt have a less supported rail on 1 side. The 2 months later the welds cracked on 1 corner. I dont even want to warranty it after seeing how it failed. , I expect the same issues will repeat. I assembled it myself, and noticed the slight curve even when I put it together. but the bed frame still had a grip on the box enough it looked like it wasnt perfect but should manage. I liked the high star rating which is why I bought it. Thousands of purchases. However I am a mechanic by trade, with a welding certification and 30 years experience. I do not want this frame again. It has inherent weaknesses in its construction quality that wont affect it for everyone when new, but will make it fail earlier than needed even if you get a better one than the defective one I apparently got. You get what you pay for. There is a reason this box support is 100 dollars cheaper than many of its competitors. ... show more
