I had Sengled bulbs in two of my lamps and they suddenly quit working. I spent 45 minutes trying to get them to work with Alexa again, and after much yelling and cussing, gave up. I got these bulbs since the price point was okay if they didn't work. Let me tell you what.....even when I set the Sengled bulbs up the first time, it took about 30 minutes on each bulb. With these, it took me longer to take the lamp shades of the lights than it did to install them! The one that was a single bulb in the fixture was literally plug and play. The ceiling light has two bulbs, and the app prompted me to use the QR code that came with them, I scanned that puppy and voila! Let there be light!!!! I have to use the daylight settings on these, and the light is nice and bright without being obnoxious. The only difference I can see between these bulbs and the Sengleds is that when you turn them on and off, they sort of fade in and out, the Sengleds snap on. I purchased a few bulbs during Prime Days, both color changing and white tunable. First, once you put the bulb in the lamp and manually turn it on, Alexa finds the bulb immediately and it's ready to go. There's no third-party app to use like Hue and, I'm assuming because I indicated to link them to my account when I purchased them, I didn't have to scan any codes. The tunable white bulbs have a few different variants of white to choose from based on your preference and feel on par or a little brighter than Hue bulbs. The color changing bulbs are smooth changes and have the same infinite amount of color possibilities and they automatically recognize basic color names. I use smart plugs and smart bulbs for most of the lights in my house. I feel sorry for visitors because they don't know how to operate the lights. It seems like these bulbs are a little easier to set up, are more responsive and more reliable than the plugs. I don’t know what happened but I started getting an issue some 2:1:0:3 I spend like an hour trying to set it up, and I kept getting the same issue, still, I disconnected myself from WiFi and started to use my mobile data to set it up from the Alexa app and finally worked, Im saying this in cause someone else runs into the same issue, I disconnected myself from WiFi and did the setup process with my mobile data enabled. And it worked, someone at Amazon should look into this issue, even though it doesn’t look that common, light is great tho, I thought I picked the wrong product since light was kinda yellow at first but then I realized I could adjust it from light settings on the Alexa app. ... show more

I have gotten accustomed to using smart home automation and this has been wonderful! I bought the 4 bulbs and they usually never have a glitch or issue. I’ve used other bulbs that drive me nuts and I have to reset, these were extremely easy to set up and learn to use. I highly recommend. This is a super fun light bulb. The range of colors is unbelievable and it works perfectly with the Alexa app. I am a 72-year-old, non-tech woman and I had no problem installing either the bulb or the Alexa device with it. I have it on “good night” household option so it automatically provides “lights out” for my pre-teen granddaughter when end of day comes.
