I was nervous about spending so little on a primary mattress. But the reviews were good and I thought, "What the hay. Why not." I wasn't planning to review this after the first night. But I am very pleased! I am a 56 year old woman who is considered obese. I have disc degenerative disease in my lumbar and a collaped vertebrae in my cervix. I live with constant pain. I bought a new bed and this mattress for it. So after a stressful morning and then putting the bed together, I was beyond done with my day and was in pain so badly that if I had a narcotic on hand, I would have taken it. I also have two 60+ pound dogs who sleep with me. The female nests. The male gets up and down a lot. So after I had taken my ibuprofen, I went to bed. Initially it took a bit for me to get comfy. But once my body found that position, I was asleep. I never felt my big guy get off and then back on the bed while I was asleep. And this morning, my pain level is back down to a "1" where I take no medicine. AMAZING!!! I'm anxious to see how this performs in the long run. As others mention, it's firm. But it has enough give for this side sleeping older woman who also has problems with her shoulder and hip. I don't regret buying this mattress and would do so again. ... show more

    • Best Mattress I've ever purchased!!
I am temporarily working out of state and the mattress provided did not come close to my tempur-pedic I have back home. I figured I'd buy a reasonably priced mattress since I would have to leave it behind when I returned home. I read all reviews, etc. and wanted to try the cooling mattress... 1st it was pkd'd well and easy to remove and the mattress was quick to obtain its full size and I slept on it the first night. It was soooo comfortable that I actually called out and slept ALL day because this mattress allowed me to finally sleep without back pain and I didn't wake at all due to hot flashes. The cooling part REALLY works! Also, I was concerned about getting the med-firm because I like somewhat of a soft mattress. Yet, it did not dissappoint.. I'm NOT exaggerating that for me, the mattress is as comfortable as the tempur-pedic mattress that I purchased thousands of dollars. I will no longer bother buying an in-store expensive mattress, I will purchase future mattress from here for much less and equal quality and comfort!! ... show more

    • Super comfortable at an amazing price
I needed a mattress since I was moving and was on a very tight budget. This was one of the cheapest for a full size and I was impressed that I could get a 10 inch high for this price compared to others only going for 6-7. The mattress is very comfortable, i have a 2 inch mattress topper on it, and I like that despite it being foam I don’t just sink right in, it holds you up. Once you lay on it for a while, then it starts conforming to you and that has been so nice for my back, because I did have major problems before this mattress due to my desk jobs. Took about an hour to completely take form. Slept on it 10 hours after setting it up. Super comfortable medium firmness works fine for me. I'm just over 200lbs and the support is perfect. Some of the reviewers complain about the mattress compressing when sitting on the edge before getting out of bed. This is because it is not an inner spring mattress 🙄 There is no frame to support the edges of the mattress. If that's the complaint. Then purchase an inner spring mattress. Even the firmest of memory foam mattresses aren't going to behave like an inner spring mattress. It is a completely different design. ... show more

This is hands-down the best budget mattress. I recently purchased 10 budget mattresses for a vacation home. The brands include Amazon basic, Ashley signature design, Zinus green tea, vibe gel, and Allswell. Hands-down Amazon basic was the best mattress. Allswell is a very comfortable mattress but it is twice the price is the Amazon basic. If I had to do it all over again I would buy all Amazon basic mattresses for my whole house. What I like about Amazon basic mattress. First let me say I don’t know anything about mattresses- the density foam or any of that stuff, but I I know what a good night sleep feels like on a nice mattress. The Amazon basic is soft, but not too soft. It Is a medium firmness mattress. It’s not a pillow top but it feels like tmakers put a soft layer on top and it gives you a good night sleep. That top layer on the Amazon basic is the main difference between the green tea, vibe gel, and Ashley mattresses. Those are firm and you do not sink into them like you do with the Amazon basic. My son sleeps on the green tea mattress and he hates it; he says that you can only fall asleep on that mattress when you’re dead tired. When Amazon has their prime day I am buying him the Amazon basic mattress. My sister-in-law stayed in the room with the vibe gel and I asked her how her sleep was and she said I’m still breaking in the mattress. In other words that’s a hard mattress. The Allswell mattress is a very good mattress, but it is a little too soft for my taste. the Amazon basic is a little bit firmer but still soft. Additionally the Allswell mattress was twice as much If I had to rank order my mattresses of the ones that I bought they would be: 1. Amazon basic 2. Allswell (too soft) 3. Wow this thing is comfortable. I knew it would be. My concerns was, "Will it hold its shape or will I end up sleeping in a pot hole?" Well it holds its shape! This is a pretty standard cheap foam mattress. The memory foam layer is a skimpy 2" and I'd definitely look for a 3" one. It's comfortable enough and works well. Side-stability is weak so if you are weak and don't have core strength sitting on the edge might be an issue.
