I honestly love this coffee maker. It’s small, easy to clean and makes a good cup of coffee. I got rid of the Keurig I had due to I preferred this little coffee maker more and it’s less messy and noisy and less upkeep. I love this fits in small spaces and makes a fantastic tasting coffee every morning without fail. Cost wise it’s worth it and perfect for a small brew for one person. Other than the power cord being quite short, this little coffee maker meets my expectations. The top snaps into place. The hot water drips onto the coffee through a conduit that runs up through the top rather than through a flimsy swing-arm that can easily break. This amazon basics coffee maker has no unnecessary electronic features. It's simple. And it did not smell like burnt plastic the first time I used it.     • First One Was Busted Badly!

The first one I got was busted pretty bad. It was coming apart from the middle, the rubber at the warmer section was halfway off, and when I poured water into it to test it, it spilled all over the floor. Amazon immediately replaced it with another one and this one works fine. I treat it with kids gloves however, because I am afraid of the build quality. But it has been working fine. This replaced an old Keurig 2.0 I had for 7 years. I didn't find the need to get another as I brew one cup per morning, and this small size pot does the same at a fraction of the cost. I never used Keurig pods, I used a reusable pod. The selling point was that it came with a reusable filter so that I can make one cup per morning without waste. ... show more

    • Makes good coffee.

A no frills unit, just as I was looking for. Makes alright coffee, maybe a little better than the coffee maker (which started leaking, thus the replacement) it replaces. Used it twice so far and I like the idea that it has a reusable filter, so far, I have trimmed about 1/2 inch off the #2 cone filters used in the last unit and put them inside the reusable filter to hold the coffee, works good, no problems with that operation. The last coffee maker (Toastmaster) lasted so many years I am not sure how long I have had it, close to 30 I think, so we will see how long this Amazon unit does the job. ... show more

    • Its basic.

It makes coffee. 1) the power switch is on the side and requires a force to toggle the switch that is exceeds the force needed to move the fully loaded coffee maker across the counter. The switch should be mounted so the force applied is downward thus the coffee maker wouldn't move. 2) The handle of the pot is hollow, which gives it strength for the material used. It also collects water if mounted upside down in the dishwasher. I a short time you will be trained to turn it right side up so the water stays in the dishwasher. 3) the impatient plug (so you can pour coffee before the brew is finished) is too stiff or the inner assembly doesn't always seat properly, and sometimes doesn't open when the pot is in place. This results in the coffee flowing back into the water reservoir of the coffee maker and not the pot. 4) heat pad keeps coffee at the brew temperature and doesn't lower, resulting in toasted coffee if you don't switch off when it finishes brewing. I was spoiled by my old coffee maker which had a lower temperature. Not a bad buy. We all have our faults. ... show more

Idk what kind of cups yall drink but this thing is perfectly 2 cups which is more than enough. I honestly love it. It’s all you need for an affordable price. It’s not arbitrarily marked up 10-20 dollars like other bare bone coffee makers. If you like simple and effective this is the one. Even after turning it off the pot stays warm for awhile which is nice. It doesn’t leak, and honestly pretty sturdy. I’d say be careful putting your hand over the vent on top to open it if you’re trying to pre load your next pot the steam is steaming! Haha otherwise this things awesome. If it ever dies which I doubt will be anytime soon I’m getting this exact one. ... show more

This pot makes coffee just fine, although some of the parts look a bit flimsy. I have a feeling parts would be hard to find and not cost effective to replace. But at this price, so what? Just be careful. Use the very cheap (about 1 cent each) coffee filters. And making tea is very easy - I just throw 4 Lipton tea bags in the basket with a full pot of water, and it comes out a bit strong. I add a little water to get my preferred taste. ... show more
