I have built and customized my Triumph Speed Triple and wanted to get something that has a "steampunk" look to carry out the street-fighter theme. This is perfect. I had a terrific experience with this order. The part/assembly arrived much faster than expected. Everything was well packaged and in perfect condition. Nothing is cheap or plastic-y, but high quality, powdercoated metal. I've installed it, which went amazingly well. Wiring is simple too. What was going to be a challenge to deal with the uglification that license plates inflict on motorcycles turned out to be a beautiful solution. This plate holder is real sturdy, should last forever. It mounts easy enough I guess, I attached mine at the rear shock bolt. Wirings real easy. I eliminated a lot of plastic under the rear fender, gives it more street bike look there, or room to lower it and give it more lowered look with the light and plate down on the side. I'm cool with it like this for now. Who knows, I could even go with a hardtail, we'll see. Definitely can recommend this item if you want the side plate, great item for the job. ... show more

My son installed this on his Harley and it works quite nicely. The light is bright and a bit retro looking. The mounting bracket it pretty heavy gauge metal and not cheap at all. He said it was easy to install and is very pleased with it.

Size: 1" Axle Hole Flat Bracket
I thought this would be able to mount either vertical or horizontal on either side of the bike, but the way the screw holes are recessed for ONLY one set of screws, the nuts will stick out in the way of mounting the license plate flat. Also, the other screws that connect the light to the backing are in the way of mounting the plate flush. Either way you have screws or nuts sticking up under the plate which causes it to be uneven. They should have recessed all the screw holes not just two of them. The Pros: The light is bright and feels well made from plastic and metal. The steel plate and mounting bracket are all heavy gauge (almost heavier than really necessary). Overall it looks good. ... show more
