I am giving 2 stars insteaad of one because it seems to be well built, otherwise a near total failure! I have several issues... The cons; 1. The kit does NOT come with the nesessary connectors to install the electrical. The ones that are supllied are also not the correct size for the wire supplied. 2. There's no place to install the supplied thermostat unless the factory thermistor is removed. This would cause a check engine light and render the temperature guage usless. 3. The set temp for the supplied thermostat is far too low, turning the fans on before the engine reaches normal operating temp then the fans would remain on throughout the operation untill the engine is turned off and is allowed to cool considerably. 4. The fans are VERY underpowered and I'm concerned that they won't cool the engine. The fans running at 13.4v don't move as much air as the mechanical fan did at idle with the viscous clutch disengaged. Based on my measuments, the fans only move approximately 800cfm (about ⅓ of the advert. flow) as installed. I'm very concerned that once the weather warms up they won't move enough air to keep the ac working and engine cool in traffic... (update) the fans will not keep the engine cool at idle with ac running with an ambient temperature of 71f... VERY disappointing! 5. The bung that is welded in place for the heater core return is ¼ NPT. This poses a problem finding a hose barb fitting to fit the ⅝ heater hose. 6. This unit is not a direct fit. Modifications will need to be made. I knew this would be an issue before purchasing but worth noting. The pros; 1. The radiator seems to be well made. It's much heavier than the stock "flastic" radiator that came in the truck. 2. The shroud is heavy gauge aluminum and seems to be very high quality. ... show more

Radiator is nice and big, works well, however after installing, one of the fans stopped working after just 3 hours of them being turned on, I started the truck drove to the store and I checked them, they were working, got home checked them and they were both still working, after I got out around 3 hours later, I started the truck and only one kicked on, I plugged in the wires from the one working and the non working fan still didn't come on, so now I only have one working fan, which is also causing my air conditioning to not work properly. I have contacted the seller, but haven't received anything back. ... show more

I bought this and put it in my 96 chevy k1500. it was replacing another all alluminum radiator that had started to leak. this radiator is slightly thinner but has the same amount of passes as my old one but it also does fit better in the radiator mounts than my old one so I guess its kind of a wash. the radiator cap that came with it is a 19 lb cap that feels very good quality. I was concerned with the extra pressure rating so I put a stock rated cap on it. looking into it the trans cooler pipe looked slightly crusty but nothing real concerning. I have ran it for a couple weeks not and its doing its job. all aluminum ones are way better than plastic crimped ones in my opinion Update 3/26/24 Almost exactly 1 year and one month and the radiator has sprung a leak towards the top where the core meets the tanks. When I contacted about a warranty I was offered $50 back. The radiator has a 1 year warranty and when I pointed out that 1 month should not have degraded the value 80% the bumped it up to 50 percent back and asked if this was acceptable. So not only is the radiator garbage but the seller does not want to take care of the customer. I understand it was 1 month out of warranty but my original radiator lasted 17 years. This one should have lasted much much longer. I will not be buying again. ... show more

Size: 4 core radiator with fan and shroud
Bought this radiator drove the truck about 600 miles and the driver side tank where it is welded started leaking. The radiator is 6 months old and can't get the customer service to take care of the warranty issue. From now on I'll pay the extra money to go to a local parts store.

Replaced Radiator on my truck sent back and still got wrong size . 40x20.5 I got. 40 x 18.5 But I did not catch it till I put the last pice on The bracelet . Was not an exact fit . Not the first time not the second time.

After 3 months of use, one of the fans stopped working, along with the cover that began to lose coolant, now the other fan stopped working and was losing coolant Because of one of the welds, I do not recommend this radiator, unless you want to have a hard time with it.
